Maybe the shortest term Packer of all time passed away yesterday. Timmy Brown only played 1 game as a Packer.  He was released by Lombardi after making several mistakes in his 1st game as a Packer in 1959.  According to John Eisenberg, author of That First Season  Lombardi considered him a smart ass and couldn't tolerate that.

While Brown made several impressive plays in the pre-season but he fumbled a placement on a field goal attempt along with other errors in his 1st real game.  He was released by Lombardi the next day.  He was the 312th player drafted out of 360 total and most thought he had little chance of making the team.  He was without a doubt the best player Lombardi missed on.

Brown went to make the Eagles taxi squad in 1959, had a very good career with the Eagles and later the Colts.  He also was an actor on many TV shows and movies, most notably playing Capt. Oliver Harmon Jones M.A.S.H.

Brown was age 82.
