Meaning if the linebackers not named Matthews wouldn't be so awful the secondary wouldn't have to make so many tackles.
I think it's more the Safeties not making plays in the run game as opposed to the LBs. Not that the LBs played great. But there were plenty of missed tackles by Burnett and company.
Peterson just finished the season with the 2nd most rushing yards ever, there were a lot of missed tackles before today's game.

He averaged 6 yards a carry this year. He got 5.9 against the Pack today. As bad as the Packers D looked today, they were slightly better than average agains't AP. That likely won't win them another SB, but it kinda puts today into perspective.

Woodson might have lost a step, and he's playing safety now. But I am pretty certain that he'd at least have tried to tackle AP today, unlike Williams.
I can agree with that. Woody is outstanding in run support.
Need someone with more awareness out there. I think him blitzing Ponder could have even more of an impact that his support in the run game.

He is ready and I bet he is licking his chops to get out there and put down AP. Must have been hell for him to stay on the sidelines last sunday.
Woody has slipped in pass coverage lately as evidenced by quite a few defensive holding penalties... but that dude mans up and plays the run as well as any defensive back. I just hope his collarbone holds up.

People seriously underestimate Woodson's knowledge and experience in this defense. Opposing QBs might fear Clay Matthews but they know they can't fool this D when Woody is in there.
