McMillian thinks fines are a Packer bounty

Really like what you're doing rookie but shut up. Everybody is getting fined as the game we once knew is turning into a candy ass sport. Don't open your yap and draw more attention to the organization, especially after the team was humiliated like a bunch of pussies in New York.

That was one of the few plays I was happy with during the game. Being up 28 pts in the 4th quarter and still chucking the ball around - I was glad McMillian drilled him. Was hoping for some all-out blitzes on Eli and giving him a shot or two.

But to Henry's point - yes, shut up. The game's different now and anything that looks like a late hit/cheap shot will get fined. No need calling more attention to your own team.

A couple of those in the first quarter would have been much more productive than a meaningless, perhaps fineable cheap shot when the game was already decided.

So you were happy with the cheap shot? Interesting. I like the kid but that play was total bush league. And they call it, they will continue to call it so deal with it rook.
At least the Pack doesn't have Titus Young (source:Rotoworld)

Longtime center Dominic Raiola told reporters Friday that the Lions have "moved on" from Titus Young due to his selfish behavior.

Analysis: Young attempted to sabotage the Lions' offense in Week 11 (vs. Packers) by lining up in the wrong place on the field, and was suspended for the Thanksgiving game. Don't expect to see him play much the rest of the way. "We've moved on from him," said Raiola. "He wants to be an a-hole, let him be an a-hole. It's not my problem. What we can control is the guys who want to be here. And when you act like that, you don't want to be here."

I wanted to know why Herschel thought it was "bush league". I had no problem with the play. It was a football play against a team intent on running up the score. Running up the score is something I have a problem with.

If it was a cheap shot, I would have been unhappy. It was a football play that's being called too closely in a pussified league.
If you are going to complain about a fine or the NFL getting after the Packers that wouldn't be the example (McMillan hit) that I would mention.

I thought the Brad Jones fine a couple of weeks ago was pathetic and the Ryan Taylor one was too. But a late hit is a late hit.

Disagree with each sentence.
At first I didn't think it was a dirty play but after watching it again, McMillan is watching the receiver the whole time and should have seen he didn't catch the ball but continues to delivery the blow. He should have been able to pull up, no way will he win his appeal.

LOL, almost every poster in this thread disagrees with you. Also the refs on the field disagree with you and the NFL who reviewed the play and decided a fine was in order, they disagree with you as well.

What does that suggest about your opinion?
The way the NFL assigns fines is suspect at best and arbitrary at worst. This year, I've seen calls that were dubious during the game result in $30,000 fines (or nearly all of Deep Chicago's annual salary) afterwards.

I'm not saying McMillian was right to play the conspiracy card (and it sounds like this play--which I don't remember--may have actually merited one), but it's out of hand league-wide. Could fines on holding penalties be far behind?

Nothing except that it is my opinion and a bunch of people on an internet football forum have a different opinion.

It appears to me that you feel the NFL referees and the NFL itself is always right.
