Hi Everyone. We now have new software. That's a good thing. Now, I need to shutdown the forum temporarily to move the new website to a new hosting provider. (hoop.la doesn't host like the old EVE did)

If I leave the forum enabled some new posts may get lost in the transfer & I'd like to avoid that if possible.

The forum will be re-enabled by this evening. Thanks for your patience & understanding.

I have re-enabled the forum because the folks at hoop.la are probably off for the weekend.

Please be aware any posts you make from now until the move completes MAY disappear!

So if you want to ensure your posts stick, make a copy & put them in a Word doc to re-post them after the move completes.

Moving website files sucks & I need to get the hosting provider involved because our database is larger than a normal DB.

I'll update this thread once the move completes. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Does anybody here honestly think their posts are so compelling that if they should be erased, mankind will be the worse for it?

I'm mean, other than mine.

LOL, Blair Kiel, I thought the same thing.  Definitely!  Only you need to back up any posts that might be deleted!  ;-)

Oops forgot about the built-in emoticons, so I'll give that a test drive:

Boris, like the new format. To bring to your attention, every now and then when I click a link it opens on the same page instead of opening a new window, meaning that I must click back on the browser to get back to the thread. Example: the Hernandez link posted by Dr. Bob today. It happened to me on another thread, but I don't recall which one. Other than that, I like it and I've found no other glitches!

I hear you. This is a good chance for a learning exercise....Currently It's incumbent on the person posting to ensure the link opens in a new window (I'll see if I can set it to "auto" a little later)

Look at the 2 screenshots below. The first one is how Dr. Bob had his link set (E.G. If you simply c/p the link into your post)

InsertLink

The 2nd screenshot is how I set Dr. Bob's link to open in a new window

InsertLink2

Once you c/p the link, you should see the little "link" icon InsertLinkicon light up (when your cursor is next to the link) click on it & the insert/edit link window appears & you can set the link to open in a new window (or the same window). I prefer new window too.

If you go back to Dr. Bob's post & click the link, I have switched it to "new".

Hope this was helpful
