Looks like the plan is Burnett, McMillian, Jennings and Richardson. Not sure about the latter two, but I think Burnett and McMillian could be good back there. Don't forget that year 1 to year 2 is a huge jump and with McMillian actually healthy all year, we may actually see that jump. Guess this is one of those positions where we have to cross our fingers and hope the young guys develop.
I think McMillian can really excel at FS given the opportunity. He played very well last year as a rookie.

I don't think it's overly concerning they didn't draft a FS, nor is it surprising. The coaching staff had indicated well before the draft that they were content with the safeties they had on the roster.

Richardson could be a sleeper. He has the build and experience at the position.
In one of McGinn's recent pieces, he asked a personnel man / GM from another team to look at GB's roster and offer some insight into their needs for the draft

Here is what he said about corner and safety:

Cornerback:

"They've got (Sam) Shields and (Tramon) Williams and (Casey) Hayward and (Davon) House. They've got some guys they've invested in. They've got (Jarrett) Bush back. I think they'll pick a corner before they pick a safety. With Shields and Williams, they have starters. It's not like they have a void there."

Safety:

"They lost (Charles) Woodson. They could pick a corner and then a safety, but I don't see this as pressing. The guys they had last year are back. (Jerron) McMillian is a fourth-round pick. In my mind, they've already got people they've been training."

.
While the entire defense greatly misses Nick Collins, I recognize it is folly to try to draft a clone. There were no Nick Collins "clones" in this draft.

I am interested in McMillian, but I think there will also be others playing situational roles especially on passing downs. Jennings has another year, but I think he is really a backup. I don't know how you find out in the offseason if Richardson learned enough (is he trainable?) to even be considered in the mix. We'll see about Hyde. Even if he is converted, I doubt we'd see much of him this year.

Wait, is that what they mean by draft and develop?
