DL Hall, Rea, and Koening are all going in the wrong direction to end the year.

Who can you trust in the playoffs? Peralta, Myers, Montas, and Civale as starters with Williams and Megill in relief?

Forgot Payamps. He's been great lately.  Ashby has been pretty good too.  With the 7 you listed plus my 2 no other pitchers need to see action unless it is a blowout, either way.

Also they DFA Paredes, who had  a 1.17ERA and recalled Herget because they wanted a "fresh arm" for last nights game.  This really makes no sense.   If they wanted to recall somebody it should have been Hudson.

They really need someone with some power to pinch hit off the bench. It was supposed to be Hicklen, but he was banished to the minors (and rightfully so) after getting thrown out trying to tag and go to third with 2 outs in the ninth a couple of weeks ago.

What is this starting from behind crap? Crew sure not playing like they have something to play for. It’d be a long shot to get the 2nd seed, but not mathematically out of it yet.

I know right. Seems they have a recent trend of allowing a HR to the opposing  team in the first inning.

And, they are now losing 2-0 after 3

Just have to come back and win this.  Phillies lose, Braves win, Mets win.  Come on Murph, get the best hitters in the game!!!!!!

The Brewers regular season ended when they clinched the division. You could tell from the celebration in the clubhouse that night that they'd achieved their goal for the year. They made the playoffs again, and they have a very small chance of advancing in the playoffs, again.

Another successful nibble at the apple, and they'll be more likely to get another nibble next year with Ortiz and DL Hall than if they'd have kept Corbin Burnes for this year and let him leave for nothing. But if they had Burnes instead right now, they'd be a serious World Series contender this year.

Don't think so, pitching ain't the problem.  It's have a 1st baseman and/or DH hitting .210 or below and striking time after time after time.  Five more Ks for them tonight.  I don't care how "big hits" they have had, sometimes you just have to get on base or get a single to drive in a run.  I hope both are gone next year.  Keeping Santana may have been the best option for this team this year.

I agree on the lack of bench power. That would have been something to target at the trade deadline but they didn't make any moves. A Josh Bell type move would have been great (like the Dbacks made for a player to be named later).

But they really don't have a number #1 (or maybe even a #2) starter. They have a lot of good B+ (#3 starter) type pitchers, but they don't have a guy other teams fear as their #1. Burnes would have been that guy.

Having a #1 starter is like having a#1 WR in football.  It's just not necessary.   Like the Packers WR group having several guys that get the job done is better than millions in just one guy.  Both Hoskins and Bauers have bench power, what they need most is a bench drive in runs with base hits or even sac flies player.  Just too many unproductive outs from those two.

Fearing a pitcher doesn't win games either.

Come playoff time, the quality of hitters generally ramp up because you are playing the best teams.  The same goes for pitching.

You can probably get by with good but not great pitching if you have a hitting lineup that will spot you several runs a game.  That was the Brewers 2011 team.   That’s not this team.

Doesn’t mean Milwaukee can’t go on a postseason run.  I just don’t think it’s very likely.  It’s even less likely without the 1 or 2 seed bye.
