Always hated Begel. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds., or if it's accurate.
Kidd openly wanted, and likely negotiated, dual role when he came to Miltown. Begel might have assumed Kidd would be named GM and not POBO. We will see if Hammond sticks around for what would essentially be a demotion... GM for things Kidd doesn't want to be involved with.
Some of the recent moves seem to have Kidd all over them, MCW, Vaughn (rumor being floated that Hammond wanted Portis), Martin, etc...

Hammond royalty screwed the pooch on the Tobias Harris trade and the Alexander pick was a complete debacle.
However - look at his other moves. Henson, Jennings, Giannis, Sanders, and Parker draft selections. Dealing Jennings for Middleton. Signing Monroe. Cutting bait on Ersan and Gooden. I am sure I am missing guys but that's a pretty good run and the Pistons haven't been the same since he left.

Hammond has done a great job assembling the roster. I don't think there's any truth to it- someone justvtryingvti take some steam out of this train... They're opening a lot of eyes and the hype has started.
