Yes, it should have been a catch. Maybe they can add a new addendum to the rule: it's a TD if you catch and control the ball even if upon landing a body part crumples like a fender in a car accident and the ball hits the ground after the player does.   (and I mean eye roll at the fact these guys are human)

I'm just glad to see he still has his leg. If he walks again and can run with his kids, that should be enough for anyone. Call it a career. I like that he's thinking "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" rather than "of course I'm coming back."
