Saw a locker room interview with Janis in which he was asked what he worked on in the offseason. He replied "we changed our footwork on our pass routes so we worked on that". Is it possible that when doing self review, our staff thought that opponents were able to anticipate our receivers routes based on their footwork and this contributed to their inability to separate last season?

who was the WR coach last season? maybe we didn't self-scout ourselves at WR because we were trying to find any healthy body to run the correct route?
It's certainly possible. My guess is that there were a number of fundamentals issues that defenses were seeing. I think it was the perfect storm of issues plaguing the WR group. Cobb was a 1 man show and defenses targeted him. Jones and Dick Rodgers were not able to truly challenge defenders athletically, so they saw a lot of man coverage and just couldn't beat it consistently. Adams looked to be slowed by injury which limited how he could challenge defenders, but he seemed to also be slumping or low on confidence leading to drops. I'm guessing Abby, Janis, and Perillo were too green to make the correct route adjustments and defenders weren't challenged to cover them in Zone.
I think if Janis substituted "my" for "our" and "I" for "we", that would be a lot closer to the truth.
You gotta have something if you want to be with me.
Aids?

Beats me? But never fear the new guy is teaching them all to juggle...like we need more of that on the playing field. sheese
I think the same person was coaching them last year but Alex Van Pelt held the title of QB/WR coach.

I know, he may have held the title but he sure did not hold them responsible.

Just because that's what you're offering doesn't mean it's what I want or what other people bring to the table.

Juggling a football is a positive step toward catching the darn thing - at least they have their hands on it - in a manner of speaking. Progress must be measured in micro steps.
