That play is really no different than the Alabama play that was ruled incomplete. And no grounding on that play either.

A defensive battle just turned into a football game.
It was striking the difference between college and pros on that sideline route. In college even at this level the Georgia defender makes the play against college players convincingly. In Green Bay defending Rodgers, Aaron sends that one right by his earhole and it's 6 deep.

We are too used to watching Rodgers. He makes that play, but only a few dozen NFL QBs that have ever played make the throws that Rodgers makes for 6 deep on that type of route.
So the team with awesome looking G on their helmet lost to Saban in the Championship, but then got their revenge by denying him his 8th title just like Brady will be denied his 8th Super Bowl.
