@Brak said it best.
I don't know, and don't really care, but I think Diggs felt 'dissed' and took it personally. He felt as if Allen was purposefully ignoring him and/or not calling plays that would making him the primary receiver.
I'm guessing Allen chose a "F you, this is my team!" response, and the pissing match was on from there.
I do think this could've been dealt with better than everyone involved, but it pretty much begins and ends with a diva WR. JMHO.
Bullshit. Throw to the open man. A rebuilding team shouldn't give up draft picks, especially at a position they really don't need help.
How did Allen have a negative impact on Diggs, by not throwing him the ball enough because he thinks he's open on every play?
Diggs was an important, reliable, top-notch piece in Josh Allen's development into a top QB and the Packers could use someone like that.
But not at that price.
Nor at that age.
Nor him in particular.

What is it with the diva act with some wide receivers? I swear some of them act like spoiled NBA superstars.
I think the combination of his salary and age would be the main reasons why I donât consider that deal.
The guy is an elite level performer. He would make this passing game really dangerous, but Iâd prefer to keep developing the younger guys instead.
As for him being a diva/malcontent, so are 50% of the WRs throughout the league.
Hell no !
Oh yes! I definitely do it if we could swing a three-way deal and get Rodgers back under his new low dough contract. Championship! Nailed it!

Subtraction by addition
Actually, you may be on to something, GBLA.
But... substitute "Adams" for "Rodgers" (same for "Raiders" and "Jets", naturally), and the rest falls into place.
Actually, I don't know if I would trade the draft picks Boris proposed for Adams, and if I wouldn't do it for him, I damn sure wouldn't for Diggs.
They're similar players as far as age and perhaps not being in the right situation to maximize their skills, but Adams is much more talented and isn't a head case.
Here's a trade proposal that seems a bit more reasonable: Link to article
Packers receive Michael Gallup
Cowboys receive 2024 Third Rounder & 2025 Fifth Rounder
The Packers would effectively be replacing Samori Toure on the roster with Gallup. Gallup becomes a 2 or 3 on depth chart with each other player moving down a slot. He's only making $1.6 million this season, but that balloons to $9.5 next year and $11.5 the two following years. Gallup was pretty productive prior to his 2021 season-ending knee surgery. He's definite a deep threat. And he's in his second season after the 2021 surgery.
I don't think the Packers should/would make this trade for a variety of reasons. They don't really need to. They don't generally part with draft picks. Trades are not that common in the NFL and certainly not for the Packers. And I don't know that I'd want to add the salaries prior to seeing his full recovery. But mainly because I think Gutekunst, LaFleur and the rest of the org likes what they've built at WR.
A 3rd and a 5th for Gallup?? Maybe the 5th only. Otherwise.....pass.
It's just great to see the GM constantly working the roster. I love it.
Why would the Packers want Gallup at all? He's not going to be a difference maker. It's not like opponents will change their defense because of him. Even though the Packers are projected to have 11 picks in the next draft, I wouldn't give any up for Gallup plus kick Toure to the street.
Perhaps we don't want Gallup. Gutey may be tossing Gallup and Diggs to the press to create the conversation that GB is willing to wheel and deal so Gutey can be seen as an actual potential trade partner for players he may actually want down the road. I know the GM's have their own relationships and don't rely on ESPN but it still works as subliminal messaging to the other teams.

This is a clickbait article by some wannabe GM. Oops, I mean wannabe Florio. Itâs all made up.
