Hernan Perez with 7 RBI today. Brewers beat Rangers 10-1.    The Moose also played 2nd base today.  He had no problems except forgetting to cover the bag on the throw down to 2nd to start the 1st inning.

Nice comeback win over the Scrubbies today.  An error not called an error by Gamel lead to a 3 run triple and a 5-1 Scrub lead.  But a 3 run bomb by Arcia and back to back homers by Gamel and Saladino and the Crew pulls out a 7-5 win.

Great news but not lost was the affect a dugout full of teammates waiting and responding when Jimmy stepped onto the diamond!  Something going on in Milwaukee that these guys pull for each other without fail.  Great job Stearns and better job Counsell and staff!

Jimmie Nelson pitched in a game today.      Only went an inning, gave up 2 runs , including a homer, but he also had 3 Ks.    Brewers beat the Chi Sox 8-5.

I heard he got up to 95 mph on the radar gun.  I have to believe he might even get better than that if he progresses with no setbacks.  Maybe by the end of the year he's back to his old self?  He would have been the #1 or #2 starter we were looking for if it wasn't for the fluke injury.  No guarantees he'll ever be that again, but there is some hope now that he can be a contributor.

It took my wife to see the "sandal" or "flip-flop" in that logo. I couldn't see it until she said something.

Same here, "Why would a team use a flip flop on their hat?"

Please let Kimbrel happen.   Might be one of the best bullpens of all time if you bring him to the mix with Knebel, Hader, and Jeffress.

If you can get to the playoffs it would essentially mean that almost every game would become a 4-5 inning game from your starter. It puts a lot of pressure on the opponent to get to the starter early. The key will be whether they have enough talent in other areas to get back to the playoffs again.

The starting pitching still concerns me a bit. Chacin, Anderson, Davies, Nelson, Woodruff, Burnes, and Peralta are going to be the guys. They need someone to emerge as at least the equivalent of a legit MLB #2 starter.

I am a bit concerned about the health of Jeffries and Knebel.   Those two are a big part of the bullpen and if they are both shelved for a chunk of time it will change what they can do.  They were already down with Wahl so this might explain why they are kicking the tires with Kimbrel

All 3 kids will be starters.  Big move by CC.

On the bullpen, Knebel was amazing the past 2 years.  Getting him back at that level is important.  But I expect this management team to shuffle young pitchers from minors mid and late season if they are ready to get outs just like last year.  Crew playing smart with the way they watch pitchers to maintain health.  Might be one of the best changes since regime change to Stearns/Counsell.

The NL Central should be very interesting this year.  You could make a case just about every team but Chicago improved and they were already very good coming into the year.

Health will be a big factor and I hope the injuries to the Brewers relief guys don’t derail them.  Excited to see the young pitchers and what they can do.  The lineup and offense should be decent.

DeGrom signed a 5yr extension worth about 27MM per season.  For the best starter in baseball that’s a pretty good contract.   He basically bought security as there is a no trade clause and you have to think he could have made more on the open market.

Thanks and great read.

I was 14 and a HUGE Brewer fan...it was so cool that someone close to my age could play for the Brewers.

It motived me to go out and hit .214 as a high school 2nd basemen at Milwaukee Riverside.

Holy crap it has been 45 years since Robin made the Brewers?  that is crazy

I was 7 years old when Robin made the Brewers and he was definately the talk of Wisconsin sports back then.  I was able to go to a game that first year and many other games over the years.  Easily my favorite Brewer of all time.
