I remember an article about Starr & Favre and how well they got along. But it was some years ago - before the butt-head Favre appeared. And I don't remember which web site I read it on. It was in the days he said all the right things at press conferences, was getting recognized for his work with the "make a wish" foundation, and definitely before he tried engineering his own release from the Packers. In the article I remember it said that Starr would visit Favre on occasion in Mississippi and stay at Favre's house. I don't know what happened to all that after the self-indulgent Favre showed up.
I remember hearing Starr do an interview not long after the Great Monkey Poop Fight of 2008 - I think Brent had just 'retired' from the Jets and was in the process of signing with the Queenies. I've never, ever heard Starr rip anyone after he got out of coaching, as the guy really is a gentleman. Still, whoever the interviewer was asked him about Brent, and Starr sort of stuttered, hesitated and said, "I'd better not try to answer that right now." It was pretty clear what he wanted to say. I don't know how close they were or not prior to that, but Bart definitely didn't think much of his antics towards the end.
Yes. I also seem to recall hearing this from Bart.

Years ago too. My cousin knew one of the team trainers and she told me that this particular trainer did not like TOG. Said he told her TOG was kind of a jerk with attitude. I always remembered her remarks and at that time I thought, well maybe this trainer was wrong about TOG...but as his sordid behaviour happened over the last several years, I guess not.

And yet stories abound how Favre was very good to trainers, equipment people and all the folks most players and coaches are rumored to "take for granted". If you have to hate Favre to feel better about your life more power to you. I enjoy the fact we've gotten to see three of the greatest QBs in NFL history under center for our favorite team.

Any bad feelings I may have had about Favre I'm over. Maybe I should start a thread about it. Big Grin

That pretty much seems to encompass it. Below is a linky to what I think is a different interview Bart gave on the same subject:

Basically he says they were friends but he was disappointed with how things went at the end.

They were beneath him so easy for him to take a liking too... and they'd look up to / honor him. Peers saw through his schit maybe...

You can still be good to people and be a jerk at other times.
