Wow, that was fun.

Brust and Harris.  Lordy lordy was that some serious bricklaying.

Traevon was going to get some heat from me.  Not a bad game overall, then two big turnovers under two minutes allowed state to get back into the game.

How Hayes can be so silky sweet with his jumper and struggle with free throws amazes me.

Frank needs to be more aggressive.  His three was aggressive.  I like it.

Payne is fun to watch.  That kid is really, really good.

So Jackson has the ball in his hands at then end.  I'm not liking where this is going.  Then Bucky gives no spacing and he doesn't rub off the pick.  So he pulls up, defender falls, game.

Big ten games, these guys are just destroying each other week after week.

Well, I finally saw the Badgers albeit only one game and I'll share my sense of the team's athleticism.

I like Kaminsky's ability to take it to the basket.  Hayes has some real nice footwork, such as the spin move he did from the baseline.  He is able to get inside and put up interior shots generally not over people and often not scores, but certainly at least picking up files.  Jackson has some nice athleticism.  He can create penetration and pull up or take it to the rim.

And so I must retract.  I see more athleticism with this year's edition of Badger basketball than I have almost ever seen.  I think the team that narrowly lost to Carolina in the tourney was the last one I am pretty sure was more athletic.

Really like Hayes and Koenig.  Hayes is a load to defend because he's 6'7" 250 but moves like a guard.   Big guys can't stay with him and smaller guys aren't physical enough or he can shoot over them.  Koenig just does everything pretty well and if he develops a consistent shot he could be dominant.

Also good to see Dekker get some of his mojo back the last couple of games.   When he's locked in he's a difference maker.

Ironically, the only thing holding this team back is Jackson and his up and down play.  He killed them against Ohio State but made the big shot today.

Yeah, while I think there was some fade by Bucky (such as the missed free throw when the guy is at 95%), I think most of MSU's catching up was due to them executing so well and less to the Badger's screwing things up.

Here referring to their back to back 3's.

Still disagree that it was State just executing.  With 2 and a half minutes left, and the lead, Bucky turned the ball over twice, fouled twice, and missed a free throw that would make it a two possession game.  If not for Frank's big three, Bucky could easily have been behind for the last possession of the game.

Yes!  I was screaming at the TV or Traevon to stop smirking that he's the man and made the last shot and turn around and look to play D.  There was still 2.1 seconds left!  Even Bo was screaming/waving arms to turn around and get back.

Granted, Jackson iced the shot, but I think he thought the game was over.

If I had to guess I would say that Michigan and Iowa are trending down and OSU and maybe UW are trending up.   Michigan and Iowa have played over their heads most of the season and at some point will come back down to earth (Iowa sort of has already).

Ohio State has underachieved most of the season but when you look at that roster they have a really good team and that makes them very dangerous down the stretch.   I think Wisconsin can still hit their stride toward the end of the year as well because while they aren't as good as the 16-0 start they also weren't as bad as their losing streak either.

If I had to venture a guess I think MSU and Ohio State and Wisconsin will battle it out for the conference title.

I don't see UW in the mix- they have 5 losses. I don't know if it is reasonable to expect them to run the table- they have some tough games coming, especially on the road. Those losses to Indiana and Northwestern probably will be the ones that hurt them the most.

But that's ok. I heard a comment from an analyst on CBS saying the Badgers are probably built to win more in the tournament than the B1G. I think that might be true.

Winning the BigTen Tournament is more important than winning the regular season title.  Win the tourney and you're in the NCAA.  Seven games left, going 5-2 would get them to 11-7 in conference and most likely a 5 seed in BTT. Ohio State and Iowa have easier schedules down the stretch. Beating Iowa would be huge. At least Bucky should be well rested after their trip to Michigan.  At any rate it's going to be a great finish for the Badgers.  Bring on March Madness.
