Stephen Drew signed with Boston for the prorated amount he would have gotten had he signed the qualifying offer.  He gets 10 million (minus the addition 4 million he could have earned for the first two months).  He was reportedly offered around 10 million from the Mets, which he turned down.

Did Scott Boras win, lose or draw?

I remember wanting this guy as a backup before the Maldy days.

Manny Ramirez is a Cub

the Cubs announced they have signed Ramirez, 41, to a player-coach contract with Triple-A Iowa. In a statement, team president Theo Epstein emphasized that Ramirez, 41, "is not and will not be a fit on the Cubs' major league roster."
