The Packers showed some. They tried to sign the DB before the league placed him in the supplemental. I'd also at least kick the tires on the 6-3 365 pounder at NT.
"Conflicts with teammates in his two collegiate stops could guarantee Smith falls out of the seven rounds of supplemental draft, especially considering the hesitancy clubs are likely to show considering the recent Aaron Hernandez fallout."
....no thanks.
Little to no interest in the guys that fight with teammates. While not worthy of any draft pick, I'd be more apt to try them as an UDFA.
The guys that were academically ineligible don't concern me as much, but still not worthy of losing a draft pick over.
Holloway's size does offer some intrigue, even as a PS candidate. It would be nice if he were a hidden gem, but I doubt that's likely.
Since the Packers are so reliant on the draft to build their team, I doubt they spend any draft picks on this group. None seem to be of the sort that you have to have on the team to get better and therefore none are worthy of the loss of a pick.
I could see them making another run at the DB as an UDFA given the Sam Shields situation. In addition, despite the fight in 2011 at So. Ala. he somehow managed to get named a team captain in 2012. A more detailed write up is here: http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com...bama.html#more-25628 To me the comments at the bottom of the page say it all for this kid which is why I don't think a draft pick will be used on him by the Packers.
The others simply go into the database...
So now all are free agents and GB can try to sign the kid if they want.
Well, it turns out there is more to the story with Smith. He/his agent was unable to file paperwork in a timely manner.
