Since Wed the Cards have lost twice to the crappy Cubs. Letâs get a win tonight and get some positive mojo!
3-3, top of 6th Crew batting, 1 out guy on 2nd, git er done Crew
Now 2 outs Adames at 3rd Frelick batting.
Frelick hit by pitch, guys on 1st and 3rd, Ortiz batting
Ortiz hit by pitch bases loaded Perkins batting
Perkins with a pinch hit 2 out single!!!! 5 - 3 Crew!!!
5-3 Crew Perkins delivers
Top of 7th Crew still leads 5-3, get some more guys
We owe this team some payback after they won 2 of 3 earlier this summer.
Great performance by Payamps. 2 on no outs and he get a K, ground out and fly out for zero runs. And now Contreras with a homer. 6 - 3 Crew!!!!
Turang with a sac fly and Chourio with a RBI single and it's now 8 - 3 Brewers!!
Brewers win, Cubs win beating the Cards and Pirates lose too. 6.5 ahead of Cards, 7 up on Pirates.

Blue Jays intentionally walked Aaron Judge in the second inning.
Oh, with 2 out and nobody on base.
Cards just scored 3 with 2 outs in the top of the 8th, tied the Cubs 4 - 4. Cards still batting.
Turning into a bull pen game for the Brewer pitchers.
Cards get 3 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th and win 5-4. While I hate to see them win I love to see anything bad that happens to the Cubs.
Nats lead 5-0 after 4, their no name high era pitcher is tossing a 1 hitter so far
Chourio RBI makes it 5-1, but that's all they get
Wilson relieves Civale and gives up a run, now 6-1 Nats
Hoskins HR top of 7th, 6-2, no outs. But that's all they get now bottom of 7th
Wild pitch scores Chourio and Sanchez single scores another in the 8th, now 6-4, but that's it for the Crew in 8th
Top of 9th down 6-4 it's do or die time for the Crew
And they fizzle out losing 6-4.

Oh, with 2 out and nobody on base.
According to Codify Baseball, it was the first instance of an MLB batter getting intentionally walked with two outs and no one on base in the first two innings of a game in over 50 years.
Tobias for the win!!
Parker has flat out sucked his last 3 starts. Has the brewers shut out through 3 innings on 32 pitches.
Hoby Milner doing Hoby Milner things. 1/3 inning 4 hits and 3 runs. 4-0 now after 6. Dog days of summer are getting to this young team.

Losing Yelich was a gut punch. It wasn't a trade, but the timing of losing one of your top players (likely for the year) was similar to the Hader trade two years ago.
Uh oh Chourio limping
3-4 now
Common theme, they have great difficulty putting runs up with guys in scoring position.
They will not be in first for long if they keep losing series, especially against bottom dweller teams.
A day off on Monday and then down to Atlanta, hope they get their shit together for that series.

16-17 when Yelich is on the DL.
46-32 when he's on the roster

The fact that they are in first place at all this year is almost unbelievable. They don't really have a #1 or a #2 starter.
Yelich has already missed 33 games and counting.
Turang's OPS in July was 412.
Their bullpen has been made up mostly of reclamation projects all year.
Devin Williams didn't pitch until this week.
I don't see how Murphy can't be the manager of the year, but I doubt he wins it. As Counsell said, it's not a "dream" job with a lot of glamour associated with it.
They also don't have much of a realistic chance to advance in the playoffs with their lack of high-level starting pitching.
But when you look at almost every team has multiple pitchers injured every other team is vulnerable too. Hell, bring up some AAA guys nobody has seen and watch them mow down the opposition.
Iâve been a little down the past few series. But there is reason to believe good things are coming with several BP pitchers projected to come back soon.
So that gives the Brewers 94 wins. Which means the Cards have to go 38 -12 to win 95 games. They ain't going 38 - 12 the rest of the way. The Pirates would need to go 39 -12 to win 95. That ain't happening either.
Brewers have 29 home games left and 21 on the road. To me the road schedule looks easier than the home one. They better play better than .500 on the road, which they currently are, to win the Central.
Yes, letâs play at least .500 ball the rest of the way- home and away. Weâve been lucky that our competitors in the division so far have shot themselves in the foot as much as we have. The good thing is we have a young team and they can bounce back to form more quickly than the veterans.
They have to do better than that. 50 games left, .500 is 25 wins. They need to pick up a few more at home somehow.
Mets beat the Cards 6 - 0 today.. (Monday)
Twins beat the Scrubs 3-0. I know they aren't really a worry for the division title, but it's still good to utter the words 'the Cubs lost'.
A good off day for the standings.
As things stand heading into Tuesday's games:
Team | W | L | PCT | GB | STRK |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Milwaukee | 62 | 49 | .559 | - | L2 |
Pittsburgh | 56 | 55 | .505 | 6 | L1 |
St. Louis | 57 | 56 | .504 | 6 | L2 |
Cincinnati | 54 | 58 | .482 | 8.5 | W1 |
Chicago | 55 | 60 | .478 | 9 | L1 |
I'd like to thank the rest of the division for being so mediocre.
