Anybody catch this on NFL Network? Pretty interesting. I guess I never realized Spergon Wynn was taken before him and how bad his college numbers were at a small school. I also didn't know he spent a year at Minnesota.

The best tidbit however was how big a bust Giovanni Carmazzi was and now he is a goat farmer with no television in the hills of Northern California.

It is stunning how wrong these pro scouts can be some time.

I didn't see the show but I saw the clips from the promo. It is pretty comical watching Brady run that cone drill at the combine. He looks like some 13 year old kid who just hit a growth spurt.

I don't think when something like this happens it's the scout's fault. Some players show absolutely no indication they are going to be as good as some one like Brady ended up being.
Saw that show on Brady a few weeks ago.

He's got a little of that "pretty boy" look to him and being married to a Supermodel doesn't exactly help that image.

But underneath that exterior, he strikes me very much as similar to Aaron Rodgers in that many have doubted him over his lifetime and constantly having to prove himself to the doubters gave him the motivation to be better than anyone. I used to strongly dislike Brady, but as time has gone on, that hatred has waned and I have a lot of respect for him. I think he's the best QB I've seen play since I started watching in '78.

It really makes you wonder about the whole process when the best RB in the league Foster (arguably) and one of the top ranked WR Cruz aren't even drafted and they're superstars in only their 2nd or 3rd seasons. Heck, Foster rotted on Houston's depth chart until 2 or 3 weeks left in the season back in 09.
Victor Cruz looks like the real deal and not just a system player.

As for Arian Foster, I think there is something about that Houston system that makes him look better than he is. He's definitely a good player, there's no doubt about that. But Houston seems to sort of run that old Denver Bronco system where they churned out Terrell Davis, Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, etc. Almost anyone who was the right fit for that system had much success.
