Now that gets me excited. Some of the defensive picks this year in the front seven develop and the defense could be scary good.

Too uneven on offense, Oline not up to par with top teams. Giants ate their lunch once already with those guys on D they have and so far I haven't seen anything to make me think a rematch would not end differently. I don't trust our offense -- yet. Make me a believer over these last three games and I could change my mind.

I don't disagree, Henry. Next year, it will really help to get Des Bishop back and if TT drafts a slobberknocking ILB too.

If they stick with what they did to bolster the oline in the second half then I definitely think they can compete.

The D always plays better well rested by far. A ground game can help assure more T.O.P. even if they don't score and have to punt, the defense will be on fresh legs. With Clay back we have our legit pass rusher. The d-backs now have the luxury of a more pressured QB trying to pass against them then they have seen in the last 6 games. Woodsy being back in is the icing on the cake for our secondary.

The return of Sam Shields also = oh no, another guy we have to avoid in the secondary.

This team can compete with anyone. But I also believe a team like the NYG is a bit inside the Packers heads. Maybe that SF team too. There are a lot of positives to take from the last 2 weeks. Let's get the o-line situated, get our playmakers back healthy and then we can think of making a run. Right now we have NFC North title within our sight- let's go down and whoop those Bears and take what belongs to us. One at a time.

I think this team is much different thant the one that lost to the whiners early this season. They are too, but I like where this one is building towards.
As far as the gnats, well... I think MM is learning how to play them, and having much of our D back to play them again would be huge.

Time will tell.

It's bares weak. Time to focus on that.

Everything else will fall into place as it does.

This team still reminds me more of the 2009 team than the 2010 team. Don't get me wrong, the 2009 team had the potential to go all the way, but they needed some luck (like having a blatant facemask penalty not be missed) to go all the way. The biggest similarity between the two teams is the fact that like the 2009 team, the 2012 team currently has almost no pass rush outside of what Matthews provided. Hopefully, guys like Worthy, Daniels, Raji and Neal can start generating some of the pressure they showed earlier in the season when Matthews and Woodson were still in there. It all needs to get rolling next week in Chicago, and I have a feeling it will.

What the secondary was able to do with virtually no pass rush cannot be understated. I'm not one of those people who thinks Stafford is an elite QB, but they still need to feel really good about what they were able to do with piles of crap like Walden, Zombo and Moses playing patty-cake with the Lions OL all night long.

The Lions also only had 1 legitimate receiver suited up today. Tramon had a good game but let's not get out of hand.

Bingo. Clay, Perry, Bishop, some other stud ILB. That along with this secondary and the added youth up front and this D has the makings of an elite unit for years to come.

Scheffler has caused a lot of problems for the Packers in the past, they were running the ball at will in the first half, and once again, they rarely even got within arm's reach of the QB. If there had been a pass rush, the Lions would have been extremely lucky to get more than 6 or 7 points.

Getting Neal & Wilson back, in addition to CM will help our run defense. I'd love to see Lang back to LG & EDS to Center....Saturday just can not make the "reach block"

I really liked what I saw in the running game, and we know that reinforcements are coming with Woody and CMIII (among others).

I think this team will go as far as they can with Rodgers playing well, or not playing well, and ultimately how the OL plays down the stretch. The timing of this offense has been impacted by the inability of the OL to play consistently well.

We all know Detroit has a good DL, but when you get into the playoffs most teams feature a good DL or pass rush, and with the exception of the Houston game this team has not responded well when facing good pass rushing teams. They got worked over against SF and the Giants, Seattle had their way with them, and they struggled at times with Detroit (both games) and even Minnesota gave them some trouble last week.

Do they have ability to win the Superbowl? Absolutely. There isn't one team out there they can't beat IMO. However, if they don't give Rodgers better pass protection I don't think they can beat the Giants or Niners and chances are they would need to beat one of those two teams to make it to New Orleans.

If I had a gun to my head, I'd say this looks more like the 2002 team that was 12-4 and lost the first playoff game at Lambeau in the history of the franchise than a Super Bowl level team. That said, they will get a few guys healthy that could step up the level of play over the next few weeks.

What a fun team to watch...and Clay will help the pass rush...and if they could get to the superbowl they could beat the AFC teams....but getting there with that O-line and the lack of a rush will take some freakish luck...it could happen.. I thought we were doomed last night until the Daniels touchdown.

Last night looked like we were walking in mud again to start the game. We have to be better than that, but like Rodgers said after the game, it's better to win ugly than lose tough.

More offensive consistency and a better pass rush, and I'd book a ticket to New Orleans (anything to get out of the snow!). Let's see how Clay helps the pass rush. If he can get some pressure, and if our receivers step up (Cobb's got to make that long catch and Jennings has to get open and Jones can't disappear now that he's been found), I like our chances. It's a lot of if's, but it's doable.

...as long as teams keep playing deep cover 2, with man underneath, receivers aren't going to be open much. last night's run game, as AR said, will hopefully get teams to come out of that defense & if they do, you'll see passing numbers like last season & vs. Texans this year.

This team does have more flaws than the 2010 team, but I feel this year's field is much more open.

I just had a weird feeling as I watched Daniels rumble in for the score that I'd be seeing that play for years to come on the 2012 Super Bowl season highlight reel.

I certainly hope I'm wrong, but this looks more like a one and done team than a Superbowl team IMO. They have played two dominant games the entire season and have struggled with inferior competition quite a bit. That being said, the Falcons, Giants, and Niners all have warts as well and we could get hot and go on a run.

As lame as it sounds, one big difference between 2010 and 2012 is that there really is a "blueprint" on how to slow down AR and the Packer offense. Not that it is any great revelation, but there is a proven strategy.

They definitely deserve credit for winning with so many injuries. No question there! Too bad we couldn't get Bishop and Perry back as well!

...this is a great point! Beginning with KC last season, most teams are playing us with 2 deep, man underneath the majority of the time, which has limited big pass plays. What is amazing is that it took so long for opponents to figure this out! One of the only teams that hasn't done this is Houston...the result was 6 TD passes for AR. I dont think we can beat SF with EDS and Newhouse going against A.Smith and J. Smith..

Obviously there is am answer for EDS, but not Newhouse.
