Some tweets/comments from his presser today:

TT: Happy to get Finley re-signed. Glad it came to fruition.

TT on short QBs: You'd like to have guys that look like John Elway who was just up here but it's not end all, be all

TT smiles at Flynn question: "Certainly won't speculate on what our plans may be."

TT: Matt is a professional. Our policy is to try to keep all of our players.

GM Ted Thompson won't talk about Flynn: "I'm not going to sit here and tell all the 31 other teams what we think of Matt Flynn."

TT on R. McKenzie: He's a really good man. People in building will appreciate fact that he's a really good guy.

Thompson was asked about the franchise tag and Flynn and smirked at the non-Wisconsin reporter who actually expected an answer. Typical Ted.

Not a whole lot coming out of this presser yet. Thompson even pokes fun at himself.

Thompson: "I know I'm a horrible guy to be up here being asked questions I'm not going to answer."

Thompson says he'd still rather go 15-1 or 16-0 and see what happens than go 10-6 when asked about teams getting hot in the playoffs.

TT: TE position tough to grade but NFL isn't far behind.

TT on OT's: Again, I don't get into specifics on evaluating our own players.

Thompson won't say how he evaluates his offensive tackles. This is phenomenal.

TT: I try to be informative but I'm honest when I say I'm not going to give trade secrets up here.

Thompson: "I could be like opposite George on Seinfeld ..."

@adbrandt
He'll be here all week...RT @packers Ted Thompson just referenced "Opposite George," a nod to Seinfeld's George Costanza.

That said, I do think there are some things Thompson could talk about that aren't detrimental to his team. He could open up a little bit

I'm afraid I'd have to agree.

For instance, nothing wrong with telling everyone how many water coolers are in office area and how to get to the one closest to his office. That way everyone will thinks he drinks a lot and is incapable of making good decisions, hence they will under estimate him at draft time.

Also, letting everyone know where the theaters are in GB indicates how he watches film. No one will think he is prepared on draft day and that will work to TT's advantage.

Finally, nothing wrong with saying GB is worse than the Federal Government when it comes to spending. Advertising that GB is so far over the cap it will require a federal bailout makes other GMs think that they can low-ball GB FAs. Then TT swoops in and re-signs them for a little more.

The information doesn't have to be real - it just has to be information.

I disagree. Big Grin

Seriously, Ted keeping his mouth shut is what has made this team so damn tough & competitive. That includes acquiring a guy like Randall Cobb at the end of round 2.

It might be boring because we're all hungry for Packer news but it's in our best interest as fans of the Packers.

TT is far & away the best GM in the NFL right now and the other 31 GM's know it.
MM: Excited about Finley getting contract done. Any time you can sign one of your players, it's what you're looking for.

MM: Sometimes we forget how young Finley is. ...He's just getting started.

MM: Look to move TE's around, more job responsibilities. Playing those guys in space more.

MM: Flynn has earned the position he's in. Ready to be NFL starter. ...If I was looking for a good, young QB I'd look at him

MM: Flynn can make all the throws. Does a good job running the system....Can make all the throws.

MM: Hopeful, confident that things can work out from business standpoint with Scott. If not, you have to move in another direction.

MM: How we run the ball will change a little bit for next season.

MM: says they're looking at play selection and trying to see if they are maxing out runs, passes

MM: Division as a whole, from 2 years ago to last year division has improved...Look at the QB position, 4 young QBs ascending

MM: "We look at the coaching staff a lot like we look at our roster. We want to have young coaches in places they’re able to develop."

Shoeless', that pic never gets old!

"The information doesn't have to be real - it just has to be information".
You're my kind of Ghost, Lambeau!
The perfect PR protocol.

"I often wonder why the media even bothers to show up at his pressers"...
No kiddding, Pakrz.
The 'media' knows these specific questions never get answered, yet they're compelled to ask them.
The team knows they have to waste valuable time to answer them, yet are compelled to create the most PC-correct statement that can be made.
And, we, as fans know that there will be no meaningful info forthcoming, yet we're compelled to rail on everybody's ass 'cause we don't get anything!
