The Bucks are up 23 in the middle of the third despite Brook Lopez being 2 for 11 and 0 for 4 from 3.

Their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best players are Middleton, Bledsoe, and B. Lopez. With Middleton out, they've gotten 10 total points from the other 2 as they've gone 3 for 16 from the floor. And they are still blowing out the team with the second best record in the NBA over the last 3 months.

Stephen A Smith was running his mouth yesterday. Said all Milwaukee has is Giannis and Bud.

(Paraphrasing)”Khris Middleton? Does he scare anybody? I mean, he’s not exactly a scrub, but come on.”

Dude’s hitting 43.8% of his 3-pointers for the year-4th best in the NBA-shooting 90%+ from the line, and 50%+ from the floor. In 11 February games, he’s averaging 24.6 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 4.9 apg. He’s hitting 94.4% from the charity stripe this month.

Then, there’s this: when Giannis misses a game, Khris is averaging 27.3/7.3/6.2.

“Middleton has been incredible in Giannis’s absence. In almost 1300 possessions, he has a usage of 33.2 percent, a field goal percentage of 49.9 percent, an effective field goal percentage of 57 percent and his true shooting percentage is 62.4 percent.

Among all players to average more than 20 minutes per game with a usage over 30 percent, both Khris Middleton’s non-Giannis true shooting percentage would rank first in the NBA, just ahead of JamesHarden‘s 62.2 percent and Giannis’s own 61 percent.”

That article goes to point out that Middleton might now be the best second player in the NBA, on par with Anthony Davis, when offense, shooting prowess and defense are considered.

I’ve been critical of him in the past when it’s been warranted, especially after signing that huge contract. But there is no doubt that Middleton has elevated his game. He’s an assassin in high leverage situations shooting, and when he and Giannis are on the court, the Bucks are nearly unstoppable.

I’ve waited my whole freaking life to say that.

Bucks just killing the OKCs right now

I don’t know NBA advanced metrics as well as you guys yet. I’m a baseball fan first, and am learning. But Giannis leads all NBA players in defensive win shares. And that’s with him sitting out about a quarter a game. His minutes are way down, yet his production is up. That’s just frightening to contemplate. If he ever grows into a consistent outside shooter...I mean if he can hit 36, 37, 38% from 3, and get a consistent jumper, he could very well end up the best to ever play the game. He is so much more than just a sinker. What ignorant crap. Sounds like Harden is jealous.
