In some ways, Greene is like Walden. He’s in just his second season of coaching and is learning some of this on the fly. Together, they have made advancements in their careers in a relatively short period of time.

“I’m not a seasoned, grizzled veteran coach,” Greene said. “I’m just doing what I think needs to be done, and I think what needs to be done is you put yourself in that kid the best you can — all your love, all your passion, all your heart, everything you know about this position and everything you’ve learned about this defense. And if they listen and they’re a smart kid and want to be a student of the game, then hopefully he can make plays and help this team win.”

One more guy that fell on to Uncle Ted's lap. I am sure this is the same approach Campen uses. Not.

Good piece and Greene deserves great credit for recognizing Walden's potential and getting him in the right position to make plays. Walden could be just a flash in the pan or he very well could be one of the many good players who bounced around the league until given an opportunity in the right situation.
No, I think they make themselves look bad with the same uneven performances from their squads, season after season. With Capers and his defensive assistants, it doesn't happen. They withstood an inordinate amount of injuries, and the defense kept getting better and better.

Let's be honest. Next season, the offensive line's going to look decent in preseason, and come game one, Rodgers is going to get sacked four or five times, and the running back won't find any holes to run through at all. Around the bye week things will improve, but the slow start is inevitable. And it's pretty obvious there will be more than an average amount of big kickoff returns surrendered as well.
