Classic TT explanation of Jennings departure...

A. Just to continue to evolve, continue to do our job, and a lot of that is on the contract side and on the salary cap side. But it's way more than that. It's making sure you make the right decisions on people, and sometimes, people change. Sometimes, it's better for someone to go somewhere else. It doesn't make them a bad guy. It doesn't necessarily make us a bad guy. But you have to make those hard decisions. That's the hardest part, is when you have a player that has played for you and has done a good job for you, but for whatever reason, you think it's time to part ways. That's like telling a family member goodbye.

My take from reading the article is that we're damn lucky to have this guy

He doesn't take himself too seriously, but he's got a plan and it works and he could really care about what "we" think.  That's the beauty of TT and why he and the Packers have been so successful

Usually guys that get to where he's been take on an attitude or have a big ego but that's not Thompson.  Heck, there are times when I think he's just ****ing with the media types because he can and that's hilarious as well

TT: But quite frankly, you never think about your better players ever getting hurt. If you think that way, you might jinx it. It might happen. Literally, you don't think about it. It's a place where you never tread.

Q. Do you believe in jinxes?
TT: No. But you still never tread. You just don't like to say it.

I'm sure that caused a few more angry tweets to Bob Mcginn.

If he stinks up the place I'm sure there will be vigorous scrutiny from both the fans and the media. Conversely, if he plays reasonably well I hope some will be willing to admit to making a knee-jerk assessment based on how he performed off the bench against the Bears.
