The Team needs to beat the 49ers.

The defense needs to beat the 49ers. If the D takes care of business and plays smash-mouth ball, we win. Unfortunately, I have little faith in our D.

Our defense is bubbling up.  All we need is 4 or five more guys.

Can't play with 16. 15 might be okay though.

Totally agree with what caller #1 said.  If we play with 15 or 16 on D, we can beat them.

Today is the 46th anniversary of the Ice Bowl. A vivid reminder that the "most recent" doesn't mean "greatest ever".

While Sunday's drive was great due to converting 3 4th downs the conditions in The Ice Bowl made that the greatest drive ever in NFL history.

Home Field Advantage: Several times during the Ice Bowl, Packers fans leaned over the front row to unplug the Cowboys’ heated benches.

Absolutely.  No quarterback ever came through like Bart did on that drive.  The play calling was extraordinary.  Epically masterful.

I always find it interesting when I see that photo that Mercein is throwing his arms up so he doesn't get called for helping Starr across the goal line. Today he'd be shoving him from behind like a snowplow. I seem to recall that they used to call a penalty for helping a teammate, and then they stopped. Today so many plays, especially runs, often look like rugby scrums. When did the rule against aiding a player go away or do refs just look the other way today? 

I had no clue but that's funny.

I wonder the same thing every week---but am too lazy to look it up---it's gotten so bad, that I'm surprised it hasn't brought about more injuries and turnovers.

Wasn't there also the story where it was Bob Lilly IIRC having the desk at the hotel call him in the morning for his wakeup call, and say. "Good morning Mr. Lilly. It's 6:00am and the temperature is 17 degrees below zero. Have a nice day." Or something like that.

He repeated this quote many times thereafer, and that's one thing that adds fuel to my Cowboys-hating fire.
