You guys act as if teams are actually active at the trading deadline like in baseball. I can’t think of an impact trade in-season. Someone will surely correct me if I’m wrong.

I don't think they're looking for an impact trade.   They want to stockpile draft picks.

Does the Rams trading for Von Miller and winning the Super Bowl about 20 months ago qualify as an impact in-season trade?

Maybe....probably....but he's no longer on the Rams. 3 Month rental and got a trophy. Probably would've got the trophy without signing him.

I highly doubt Gutey is going to "blow this whole thing up" If he does, he can start with the coaching staff

Agree with the coaching staff part and trying not to say that as a knee jerk reaction. I think the talent is here on this team albeit raw and unproven. I'd  be curious to see how it would respond to different leadership. I just don't know if you make the change in season or wait until after 2023.

I’d listen to offers for anyone.   We need to acknowledge this is a full rebuild, not a soft rebuild.

The problem is whether you're talking soft or full, the key word in either is "rebuild". I don't see any "building" occurring. There's nothing I'm taking away from these performances that gives me hope that GB is moving in the right direction. Even in AR's 6-10 "rookie" season you saw stuff to build off of, and in many cases it was the D efffed up some of those losses.

I watched the Bills/ Pats, a bit of the Chefs/ Bolts and a bit of the Iglets/ Phins. The difference in intensity/ urgency when these teams were playing compared to the Packers is ridiculous. Those guys looked like they were shot out of a cannon. Packers look like they are in hour 3 of a 4 hour practice.

The 6-1 Eagles currently have the best record in the NFC and are coming off a Super Bowl appearance.

Philly's second SB in 5 years.

Does Eagle GM Howie Roseman sit back and let the season play out or does he try and do whatever it takes to get Philly back to another SB in 2023?

On an entirely unrelated note from yesterday:

"Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is seemingly always active around the trade deadline, and on Monday, he struck a deal to bring an All-Pro safety to town. The Eagles are trading for Tennessee Titans star Kevin Byard, sending safety Terrell Edmunds plus 2024 fifth- and sixth-round picks to Tennessee in the deal, CBS Sports Lead NFL Insider Jonathan Jones reports. The fifth- and sixth-rounders will be the Eagles' highest picks in each round."

Gute is not going to blow up the roster at this point in a rebuild.  And yes I strongly believe this is a rebuild and not a reload.   Good franchises in this situation stay the course for a bit to see how things shake out.  Bad franchises like the Jets, Cards, Browns, ect. make changes sometimes just for the sake of making changes and they are constantly in this rebuilding mode and not getting anywhere.

The coaching staff? I do believe something needs to be shaken up it will be on the coaching staff.  We talk about Barry all the time  but what about the OC? should his seat be even hotter than Barry's?  I am starting to think that because you can't keep having the same crappy offensive game plan.

Funny thing is, I wasn't pissed off watching the game because my expectations at this point are very low. This is a team full of mediocre talent and poor draft selections and a coaching staff that even on it's best day would be hard pressed to rise to the level of mediocre. I actually got more pissed switching over to the Jets Giants game just in time to see Brian Daboll pass up a 4th and one opportunity and a chance to ice the game,  only to have Graham Gano miss a chip shot field goal. Then, of course, Zach Fuckin' Wilson moves the Jets about 55 yards in less than 25 seconds to set up a fg to tie it up with :01 left.  Fuck!!

In case anyone needed a reminder that there a bunch of blithering idiots covering this team, Bukowski chastised Packer fans today with a screed entitled:

Why are Green Bay Packers fans trying to trade Rasul Douglas and other key veterans?!

I see.  So the Packers front office is clearly doing the right thing here.

Haven't you railed against the front offices' moves over and over?

Rosul was ballin', one of Gute's real best finds and Jaire is clearly not 100%.  And Stokes is on IR.

That’s a solid move. A guy around pick 100 for a 150 and an aging corner. This is going to be a full rebuild, so the far superior draft pick is always the play for bad teams and older players.

Wait what?

My post pertained to Bukowski literally dedicating his show today to mocking Packer fans who advocated exploring trades for veterans who will not be around if/when the team is in a position to contend for a Super Bowl ... and then the Packers doing exactly that.

Bukowski, like 10-win Tommy Silverstein, is just not in touch with where this team is at. Not even close.

As for the FRONT OFFICE doing something right, yes trading away Rasul because the team is so bad is probably the correct move. Does not mean the team is not bad in the first place largely due to that very same FRONT OFFICE.

But if you and the other Gutey fans want to go wild with excitement over  trading away one of the few defensive players who seemed to give a crap go ahead.

Can't wait to see what 3rd round gem Gutey selects with the Rasul/Buff pick. He is especially awesome in that round.

Good move. And I Liked Rasul.

wish there would have been more.

Hopefully an entire new operation making the picks and doing the coaching in 24

The 2-6 Chicago Bears have bought pass rush aid ahead of the NFL's trade deadline today.

The Bears and Washington Commanders are in agreement on a trade that sends edge rusher Montez Sweat to Chicago in exchange for a second-round pick, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday, per sources informed of the swap. The Bears have since announced the trade.

Sweat is a pending free agent after the season.

It doesn't matter who they move or who they retain on defense right now. The system is what's the most broken. Douglas has played well and he's made dumb decisions. He's an average to slightly above average db who more often than not is miscast and hamstrung by Barry's ridiculous scheme. Now he goes to a contender that most likely will utilize him much better than Barry did. There's dead weight on this roster, and there are legit arguments that Douglas was a net positive. But at this point, this team is in free fall. Jaire's postgame tells me there are a ton of things going on that can and will implode this locker room as long as the current staff is at the helm. It's just a matter of time, and it seems the coaches have no intention to change the formula because they feel no need to change the formula. To fix problems, you have to have the capacity to diagnose problems. I see nothing at 1265 that they even recognize any problems. They will "keep working" until the pink slips inevitably are handed out.

I would have preferred Jaire being traded but the cap hit likely prevented that. His back "pain" I have a feeling is bullshit and I am hardly the only one speculating that.

Alexander also seems to have an allergy to tackling as well ever since his shoulder injury.

The Packers are in full rebuild. Them being sellers makes perfect sense. A 3rd round pick is pretty decent in return for Douglas. It sucks because he's a truly passionate player.

I would have no issue had they moved on from Kenny Clark, Alexander, Campbell either.

Also, IF Stokes ever gets healthy again, and hopefully we see him by the end of the year, he's an outside CB. If the Packers kept Alexander, Douglas and Nixon, there was nowhere for him on the roster.

Now there is if he can get back to playing like he did as a rookie.

WTF are you talking about.  My post clearly suggests I didn't like the move.

You on the other hand, say it's probably a good move in one line, then a couple lines later suggest it's bad.
