I still maintain it is a lot more than catching the ball. he lacks burst, balance , & jumping ability since his injury....in summary he isn't nearly as athletic.
But it's all about catching the ball. look at Chris Carter, he was never that fast and the last few years he was downright turtle-esque. Yet he still caught a lot of balls and TDs with great hands, body positioning (and some judicious pushing off techniques). Finley doesn't need to burst by guys to make plays, he really didn't often then either.
Remember that Finley was recruited to play basketball at Arizona out of high school. Anyone that is saying he is not an elite athlete (at least at one point in his career) is kidding themselves. Based on athletic ability alone, Finley could have been a top 3 TE. But whether it's due to attitude, mental blocks or injury, he's not. But it's definitely not due to a lack of athletic ability.
Has he reached the critical point at which cutting him would be a consideration? I think so if jennings and nelson were healthy.
no
Why would we cut him? You get nothing for him, he could be signed by a division or conference rival, and you still take a cap hit. If they don't trade Finley, which I don't anticipate they will, we're stuck with him until the beginning of March. At that point I anticipate they will have no desire to pay whatever roster bonus he is do and then release him. They will be trying to trade him before that though, but I don't see anyone giving anything for him.
Back to the subject at hand, why does there seem to be so much more buzz about the trade deadline this year? Is it because we have more definite sellers with the two-week push back?
On a Packer fan facebook page, someone was saying the Pack has made a move pending a physical. Not sure if it's true or who it is. Lots of discussion there.

All that's on my Facebook page is images of Halloween costumes.

That's like asking the audience for advice.
Packers decided they're set at RB. Deadline has passed.
How about this for desperation:
Adam Schefterβ@AdamSchefter
Bucs traded CB Aqib Talib to New England.
Wow. On top of his legal issues, he's serving a 4 gamer for PED's.

That is a boom or bust deal for New England. IF Talib gets his head on straight (the least likely of scenarios) then he will make that defense much better. IF Talib continues to be a punk (most likely scenario) then it will be a wasted trade. I don't blame Belichick for doing it though, especially if he gave up very little.

Those boom or bust guys certainly went bust for New England last year when Haynesworth bombed out and Chad Ochocinco/Johnson really didn't help them much. At least Chad Ochocinco/Johnson kept his mouth shut for the year, he just had lost too much speed due to father time.
Talib is really talented and could help them. He better wake up and realize that if he fails in New England, it might be his last stop. Or at the very least if he fails there, people won't spend anything more than a minimum salary on him.
Pats get - Talib and TB's 2013 7th rounder
Bucs get - NE's 2013 4th rounder
Pats only have 5 picks in 2013 draft. 1,2,3, and two 7's.

Good. Jordy owns him.

A double win! Pats pick up a real turd in Talib.
And when BB looks to trade out for more picks TT will be there to pick his pocket once again!
I sincerely hope campen is under a microscope the rest of season. Tired of lang's tweets, bulaga's alligator arms and Saturday getting his ass shoved around. The latter may not be a coaching issue but that group does not have discipline or cohesion right now.
Pat's haul for 2013 draft picks they've traded away.
4th - Talib - Tampa
5th - Haynesworth - Washington
6th - Ochocinco - Bengals
That's irresponsible.
