c'mon...it's over and over in a major way. and who cares what dilfer said (i didn't see it). however, i can only imagine the same stuff was talked about when steve young won. why do we even get worked up over any of this? packer fans live and breath this comparison. the rest of the world doesn't. it's an obvious talker when you have minutes upon minutes to talk....

This was not the time to discuss how great TOG is. That is insulting to AR and this team. If you don't understand that, then I don't know what to tell you.
Nobody cares except Packer fans. It simply doesn't matter. I love them bringing up Favre all the time. It only re-emphasizes that the Packers chose to go on without him and were right. And Rodgers is awesome. Talk about Favre all day - it only shows how right the team was. He got replaced by a Super Bowl MVP. And that does not suck.

Too long ago, but was there this type of talk with Steve Young/Joe Montana? I seem to recall there was a lot of talk, but not to this degree. I guess it was a little different in that when they decided to go with Young he had quite a bit of experience and an MVP where as Rodgers didn't have much experience at all.

GBP, it's talked about because of reaction of fans, who canonize him, and for those that vilify him. It sells papers and commercials.
Dilfer is as good as they come. He calls it like he sees it. He's been very complimentary of Rodgers and Co. No need to rake him over the coals over this.

Like I said, Henry.....I love the Favre coverage for the fact that everyone knows the Packers did the right thing. The topic stays fresh...and it sticks in the craw of my brother, who now hates the Packers because they got rid of Favre. That doesn't make me a Viking fan. My hate for that team only intensified the last two seasons.

i suspect most packer fans are not offended by this as only they feel that the national media would talk about this because it is what it is and that is what makes it so great.

Yeah....I disagree with you guys. The Packers got it right with Rodgers. Let's celebrate that. This coverage doesn't come at the expense of any of these guys. It only shows how great Rodgers is, and how good the team did in developing him and getting rid of a Hall of Fame QB when he wore out his stay.
Favre will stay a story as long as Packer fans want to talk about him.

That's how I feel about it. This was Rodgers and the teams greatest moment. AR played his ass of to accomplish this. They pretty much said AR was great but he's still no Favre. Insulting doesn't even begin to describe it.
BTW there is no way Favre was cheering for the Rodgers. His ego would not allow it.
