I'm guessing this means there is hope for Cobb soon.

Ya hear that Henya!?!?!
Ya hear that Henya!?!?!
I'd rather they cut Newhouse rather than IR another guy.

The competition to be average.
White IR'd? That's odd, no word before today about an injury.
I think he only had that one catch on 3rd and long. Might have twisted up an ankle or a knee.
Nah, a hammy I bet from lack of stretching.
I think TT is using our IR like a college redshirt list.

Same thing they did with Franklin. IR'd him with "neck injury" after he had a concussion, (and he has denied having a neck injury) to make room for Aiweya from the practice squad after Jones was hurt in the Vikings game. We also IR'd Hayward and Nixon to activate Worthy and Richardson--didn't seem like Nixon had that serious an injury.
Other than cutting McMillian to sign Bell, almost every move this year to add a guy has been by sending a player from the active roster to IR, even when the "injury" suffered didn't appear season ending for the IR'd guy.
If I were making a bet, it would be that EVERY NFL Head Coach would rather NOT be encumbered by press responsibilities, period. PCs are just like news conferences involving politicians; they take 5 minutes to answer a 10 second question, and their answers ultimately have little to nothing to do with the original inquiry.
That's a little extreme, of course, but the basics are the same:
Reporters asking questions they know can't or won't be answered, and players or coaches using very generic words and phrases in response, if at all. I could live without the charade quite easily.
What I do 'hate' though, is when news/updates are complete fallacy from week-to-week. And these are from "official" sources!
Last week, we were told about the 3-step process to ARod getting cleared. IIRC, it was pain management/tolerance, range and motion, then the bone scan. Aaron says he feels great, threw without pain, was a little concerned about his range and motion, but the scan was the big killer, with the inference being the bone hadn't healed enough to satisfy the doctors.
This week, apparently, that was all a load of horsecrap. Yeah, Rodgers might feel good, and there's still the process, but I have to guess the scan was irrelevant. I don't think the team was obligated to say ARod experienced pain, but I'd rather they use the phrase "He's not as far along as we hoped" or similar rather than being led to believe it's strictly a bone issue.
Will he play - yes or no? The rest is meaningless drivel.
Torn meniscus for Myles White. Will not require surgery.
Tretter may see the field:
-on Special Teams;
-if Packers are eliminated AND Rodgers is NOT under Center;
-due to injury of multiple players on the O-line.
My bet is the third option being most likely.
Not so sure about that Packland..
If EDS goes out, I would think you plug in the kid so that the rest of the line isn't disrupted. Sure Lang can play center, but then you have to put in Taylor or Newhouse at Gurad. Now you have 2 changes instead of one.
They have proven they don't deserve the PT and are just as likely to get #12 hurt as an unknown at Center. Furthermore, we are talking about Center, not left tackle were #12 can get blindsided. If he can't hold up in pass pro, it's not like #12 will be unprepared for the contact or unable to avoid a crushing hit.
It would hinge more on Tretter's ability to make adjustment/alignment calls at the line and communication. The level of that ability can make a huge difference.
I just can't see Tretter going from missing the entire season and having a couple of weeks of practice to stepping in to a game at Center. Look at Sherrod. He can't find the field, and he was a #1 pick. I know they're different injuries, but Tretter is a rookie. I think MM would go with a line shuffle before he went with Tretter, but who knows. Hopefully it's a moot point these last 7 games.
