that one burns
...they do what they do with kids that want to be there.
I wonder which school is funneling shoe money to his parents?
I've been to some of his games and I never got the "Badger" vibe from him. Maybe he is/was still immature but he didn't seem like the blue collar hard worker type. Ton of ability though.
I've seen Kobe King play a bunch of times as well and he definitely does have a Badger vibe IMO.
Iβd be stunned if he doesnβt head to Marquette. Thereβs something scummy about that school.
I'm guessing more Duke-Kentucky kind of thing.
I hope Badger fans aren't ****ty to him, kids make decisions
Just sucks... they have to keep the top in state kids. That has been critical to their rise. Seems like this was a good one, and he got away.
Last time this happened it netted them Gasser I think (when Tokoto chose UNC). Would be a good consolation to get a similar result...
Well he hasn't actually decided yet, right? He's just having commitment issues.
Maybe his friends can still talk him into Mad town.
I wouldn't give up on him just yet.
In his statement it sure seems like Madison's in the rear view...
Kentucky, Villanova, Kansas, North Carolina, Arizona and Oregon all involved with 2018 WG Tyler Herro (6-5) of Whitnall.

I think UW's reputation for young players getting very few minutes is an issue with recruits. I don't think Jordan McCabe considered UW very strongly and I heard he was promised playing time at West Virginia.

What?
UW's reputation? Go play somewhere else. Getting to the tournament every year. Getting an education. I know.....they never get to be champions...
...and I'd rather be a life-long Badger fan than a lifelong Louisville/Kentucky/UNLV/North Carolina fan....

I don't see Arizona on your list. Thank you sir.

One and dones don't come to Wisconsin, and I'm glad they don't. What's probably happened is that Herro's confidence has grown and he thinks he's only going to be in college for a year or two. No use wasting a year learning fundamentals at Wisconsin when you can be the next Diamond Stone or Kevon Looney (sarcasm intended).
Is it they don't come to Wisconsin or that they are not recruited by Wisconsin?

You'd have to believe that Wisconsin is in pretty hard at the beginning of the process on in-state guys that are top 50 type recruits. Maybe the don't spend a lot of energy on them after the potential recruit basically blows them off.
I would bet that Wisconsin doesn't even bother to contact one and done types that are out of state (unless they are in Minnesota or Northern Illinois)

Probably a little of both. Why waste your time on recruits you have no shot at landing? Certainly you aren't suggesting that UW would pass on DeAndre Ayton or Marvin Bagley if either of them showed interest in the UW program?
Yesterday I talked to somebody who would know and he said word is that Tyler's recent ACT test score was not high enough to meet the minimum requirement for enrolling at UW.
If he's breathing he should be able to get in somewhere. UNC, UK, KU, UL etc.

Arizona and Kentucky both ponied up some $$$$.
I was wondering if he got caught up in the recruiting scandal from this summer. U of A was one of the teams that was caught paying recruits.
Kentucky obviously does. Just the NCAA will never burn them. Pretty sure he goes to UK and got about 100-300k for his benedict arnold act.

From what iβve heard, it was more to do with him blowing up this summer and wanting to be a featured SG at a One and Done program. UW wouldnβt even guarantee him to start his 1st year.. which frankly they shouldnβt, but given they run 3 guards often, i dont think that minutes would have been an issue. But, other programs would guarantee minutes and a starting spot most likely, especially given how shallow the SG position is in 18β.

That and some, not all, of these dummies dont want to try in school. UW will make you actually do school work and has that reputation. Couple that with the whole defense, low scoring stigma.. and high flying recruits typically wonβt even consider us.
That next level of recruit is where we need to do better... say 20-150. Focus on 4 year guys on that level, that is what they should be doing more of. Getting top 10 guys just wonβt happen, theyβll take the bag of cash from another program or if in state and they want to stay in state theyβll take the bag of cash from MU.

As a UA fan, I'm obviously hoping that's not the case (Paying recruits). So far, the only thing we know is that Book Richardson received money from financial advisors to try to influence some high-end recruits to sign up for their services. There's rumors of other stuff but nothing solid that I've seen.
With that said, I'm not stupid either. As I said before, pay for play is the worst kept secret in college sports and UA being involved in that stuff has crossed my mind before. It will be interesting to see just how far the FBI takes their investigation... There is no doubt in my mind that they can literally take down half of college basketball and college football if they want to. Except for Duke basketball and Alabama football.. there's nothing to see there.
Heading to Kentucky
Wait until that program is sanctioned and ineligible for NCAA for the next 4 years. He'll be sorry he went there.
To people tweeting me wanting to bash @raf_tyler decision; Iβm never gonna talk down on a kid that made a decision you donβt agree with. I wish him the best, even if Iβd love to see him in Red and White. Great player and kid
