He's an LB. Fantastic to see him in Green and Gold. GREAT KID--didn't have him in class but talked to his dad and him all the time. Speed limitations are the only flaw but Gute doesn't seem to care about that.

1. Krys Barnes, LB, UCLA
Height: 6'2" Weight: 235lbs. Projected Arm length: 32" Projected hand size: 9.75" Projected 40: 4.6-4.7

Pros: Krys is consistent. He's fast, has good instincts and a good nose for the football and is consistently good. In 2018 Barnes had 85 tackles, 10 for a loss, 1 sack, 1 INT and 6 pass deflections. In 2019, he had 72 tackles, 9.5 for a loss, 4 sacks, 1 INT, 7 deflections and 1 forced fumble. Barnes is productive. He's fast and an efficient tackler. He constantly puts himself in position to make plays. He's also a good pass defender. Krys was also listed on the third team (third place) on the PFF All-Pac-12 team. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes.
Cons: As you probably noticed from the weight, Barnes is undersized for the NFL level. The immediate concern then becomes, if he adds muscle mass/weight, how will that impact his speed? He's also considered a jack of all trades, master of none. He's good at rushing the passer, good at coverage, good at run defense but not excellent at any. It will be interesting to see how his skill set translates at the NFL level.
Summary: Barnes is an intriguing prospect. He reminds me of Fred Warner coming out of college. He just is always wherever the ball is. While not the fastest, strongest or best LB in the draft, he has the ability and technique to be an every down backer in the NFL. Barnes is all over the place on boards, as high as 5th and as low as undrafted. He would be worthy of a 6th rounder.

Pros: Explosive athlete. He's a bigger back, so he's got the power and drive to break tackles and keep churning. Gibson has great hands and vision. He caught more passes than he had carries last season. Something the 49ers need in this offense. As he's a bigger back, once he gets moving he plows through guys. Almost always breaks the first tackle/sheds first contact. Another positive, he's great as a kick returner on special teams. He brings a good amount of versatility to the position and can serve as an offensive weapon. In 2019, Gibson had 33 carries for 369 yards (11.2 per attempt) and 4 TDs. He also had 38 receptions for 735 yards and 8 TDs. Another important stat: no fumbles. Gibson is strong and doesn't let the ball get ripped out of his hands.
Cons: Gibson played both WR and RB for the Tigers. Similar to Hurd, there are questions as to which one would be a better fit for him. As he has great hands and good vision, he seemed to do very well as both. As he has mixed in both, he's not the best route runner as a receiver and not used to being a three-down back. He will need to spend a bit of time getting used to being a full-time RB, but as we mix in our RB's often, he would fit in perfectly.
Summary: An under-utilized gem, Gibson could be another OX for us in our scheme. As Hurd is now 6' 5" and possibly still growing, he's not going to take many snaps out of the backfield. Gibson would allow us to keep being creative with Deebo and add Gibson into the mix. As he can play any WR position/RB position and isn't scheme dependent, Gibson could truly be another wild card for Shanahan to mix in. He's been projected to go as high as the 5th round and as low as the 7th.
So how do they get to the projected sizes?

Travis Bruffy, OG: According to Texas Tech, the interior linemen agreed to terms with the Packers. He is 6-6 and 305 pounds.
Tipa Galeai, DE: PackersNews.com confirmed the Packers picked up Jordan Love's teammate from Utah State. He is 6-5 and 235 pounds.
Willington Previlon, DE, Rutgers, 6-4, 290 pounds. Honorable mention all-Big Ten. Ended career with 71 tackles, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, four sacks and three pass breakups
Zack Johnson, OT: The Packers dipped back into familiar waters at North Dakota State and PackersNews.com confirmed the 6-4, 317-pound offensive linemen will come to Green Bay as a tackle.
Patrick Taylor, RB: Per his agency, the Packers agreed to terms with the 6-1, 217-pound runner out of Memphis. He ran a 4.57-second 40-yard dash at the combine and had a 34-inch vertical.
Krys Barnes, LB: A high school teammate of first-round pick Jordan Love, PackersNews.com confirmed the 6-1, 235-pound linebacker out of UCLA will come to Green Bay.
Will Sunderland, CB: The defensive back out of Troy is 6-4, 196 pounds and ran a 4.51-second 40 at his pro day in early March. PackersNews.com confirmed he agreed to come to Green Bay.
Darrell Stewart, WR: The Michigan State reportedly agreed to terms to head to Green Bay. He did not run the 40 at the combine but posted a 35-inch vertical leap and 117-inch broad jump. He is 6-feet and 212 pounds.
Jordan Jones, TE/FB: PackersNews.com confirmed the Prairie View A&M tight end/fullback agreed to terms. He is 6-1, 250 pounds and previously played at Grambling State.

I'm pretty happy with these signings, but wow did they seem to go all-in on Jordan Love's social circle with Dillon, Martin and Galeai.

I read this guy was pursued by 9 teams including the Patriots. Supposedly ran a 4.35 40.
Here is what Packer Wire is reporting. 15 so far. I believe they had room for 17.
All I'm saying is it would not shock me at all to see Barnes make the team because he'll excel at Special Teams, with a great attitude of doing what he needs to do to make the 53.

Stewart could be a solutiuon in the slot and he's a good kick returner. Gonna be tough to beat out Ervin though.
They should put multiple returners on the field at the same time. Odds are that at least one of them will get to the end zone on each play.

These were run on a different surface than Indy, which is notoriously slow but they are still eye opening.
Doesn't have a ton of experience and now that the mini camps are not happening is going to be tough for him to make it, but I'm pulling for him. I want a white CB who can run like hell.
Maybe he can move to WR and become the next Bill Schroeder?

If these numbers stood at the combine, Dequoy he would rank first in three-cone, third in the 40, sixth in shuttle, tied for sixth in vertical, and tied for ninth in broad jump. Last year, he led his team in tackles with 37.5 tackles (1 TFL), one pass breakup and three INTs -- in eight regular-season games.
From the tackles, it appears he's not afraid to stick his nose in there. He's worth taking a flyer on.
Not exactly a UDFA but pretty close.
At 6-2 and 304 pounds, Hester has shown limited pass-rush production in his career. He has just two career sacks, one in each of the past two seasons. However, he ranks third among Packers defensive linemen in career sacks, behind only Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry.

4.36 is blazing fast, but Sam Shields ran a 4.26. How Shields ended up as an UDFA is hard to believe. There were some plays during his days as a Packers where he run past about 5 guys on both teams to run a fast guy down from behind.

Hester was really good with the Eagles in 2018, 6th best PFF of all NFL interior d-lineman, not very good season last year with Skins.

Nope, he got -- literally -- a finger on it. Double doink was due to Hester, but the kicker took the heat. Hester made a nice play.
