James white is really good, Melvin Gordon is exceptional.
Stave has been terrible. Behind receivers and a second late. First half was a quarterbacks dream, and he wet the bed.

There we go!!!!!
Stave to Abby for 65 and a TD!!!
Or not.
heh
That ought to help Stave's confidence. That was a damn good throw.
That's the Stave I remember.
Boom!
WWWWOOOOOOO!!!
Damn are we STACKED at RB! White for 51!
It's hard to know for sure considering the slappies they're blocking, but that OL looks really good with their footwork as much as anything else.
OL looks significantly improved over last year.
Pretty surprised about that stat... it must not count B10 Championship games...
The team as a whole already seems better coached. I am looking forward to our STs finally being up to snuff too.
I wonder if/when we'll see Clement tote the rock... I'm curious to see him and IMHO White and Gordon have shown enough today.
Wow!!
Nice job Frosh, can he play receiver?
Shelton showing better hands than most of the Badgers receivers.
Dang, Abs was WIDE open and Stave threw a Tebow.
Gotta LOVE the Stave-Abby combo!!!
Still Tebowed, but Abs made a good play.
I think this one is over.
Stave 34 yards passing in the first half.
139 since.
I would like to see the shutout at this point. That'd be a nice way for the new defense to start despite the sorry competition.
Clement sighting
Me too JJ! I really am liking the new look D
Any young WR to speak of on this team?
O$U only up 30-20 on Buffalo now. Good thing scumbag Urb went for 2 after their first 2 TD's.
That pass to Abby to start the second half was picture perfect, but no much else from Stave impressed me, and he has to improve a lot before big ten pay. Be nice to see him more accurate and on time with the mid range pass. He seem seems confident with that short pass to the TE air full back, and lord know he loves the bomb, but not so much in the middle of the field.
sweet
23-yard TD is short yardage for the Badgers today.
I think Clement may have run behind his pads there.
Wow, nice quicks on Clement!
I still think we need to get this forum back to the red and white it used to be... Boris?
Wow, Houston has nice size. I do like how Clement looks too. Good future for Bucky.
And Clement gets to the century mark. 3 guys getting there today. And the shutout. And the cover on a 44.5-point line.
Not much to be unhappy about save Stave's scatter-shot play, but IMHO he'll get better next week.
Good day all around for Bucky.
Stiffs or not, a shutout is nothing to sneeze at. Great opening game for Gary Anderson and the team. Compared to how we looked early on last year under bleemlah, this is a HUGE improvement!
OL and D look much better than last year. The DBs might look a little suspect against a better quarterback.
Like JJ said, 3 100 yard rushers!! Exciting stuff.
I'm just glad they went with Stave as the QB. Just the threat of being able to go long will create a lot of 300 yard rushing games. I think he will improve the more time he gets. He really didn't get to play that much last year. I was also glad to see them put Houston in there for some playing time.
Nice win albeit UMass is a terrible team and they were without a couple of their top playees on offense
Interesting to see the 3 backs play because they are all different. If Stave can avoid the mistakes like taking sacks and throwing picks this should be a good offense.
Like the D and Peniel Jean in particular played really well. If the DBs can hold their own this will be a very good defense
One other thing on Clement
He was a pretty highly touted guy coming out of the Jersey area if I recall correctly
He is bigger than White but not quite as fast as Gordon so he could end up being a really good player for them.
He looked to have pretty good speed when he was out there.
Clement does have good speed but its not like White or Gordon. He is also more physical than those two guys.
White is not the biggest guy and I wonder about Gordon always wanting to bounce it outside but those are small concerns given thsir overall talent as an RB group. If you are an elite back why you wouldn't want to come to Wisconsin is beyond me
Stave had this team rolling last year before the MSU game where he got hurt so I am not worried
i would like to see amother WR other than Abby emerge
