Mix Diskerud just tied it at 1-1...USA handling themselves nicely here.
But with this team anything can go south in a hurry.

German counter-attack is lethal...I mean they get upfield in a hurry. Wow.
1-1 at half...Germany not at full strength but neither is USA. Low decided to go with the young keeper instead of Weidenfeller.
Second half will be interesting...hope USA comes out better than they have the last 8 friendlies.
I can't think of a single field player in USMNT history who has been more essential than Michael Bradley. Team is ****ed if he gets injured.
Paper thin depth makes Bradley irreplaceable.
Nice victory for morale and confidence. USA played really, really well in the 2nd half...but lets be real here...they face at best the 4th best keeper in Germany...Neuer was out, ter Stegen opted out for personal reasons, Weidenfeller probably should have gotten the start but didn't. Low probably thought they had enough offense to have him in goal.
Just hope the USA can keep this up...bad history of mental let down. Would hate to see them lay an egg in the Gold Cup.
After re-watching the game, it was quite miraculous the US was even in that game. Germany could have easily led 3-0 at half...the back line was, and continues to be, horrendous as it was in 2015. I don't care if you have Neuer or GG Buffon in his prime in the net, if your D is that bad, it won't matter.
Johnson, Brooks and Chandler all were the back line, along with Alvarado. Vs NED it was the same save Brek Shea, who plays abysmal D, instead of Fabian Johnson...there was little improvement.
This must be resolved before the Gold Cup, or it's going to be big trouble.
Also, a nice tactical move, US went from a 4-4-2 diamond to a straight 4-4-2 in the 2nd half, brought Beckerman in, who is Godawful slow, but doesn't get out of position, bumped Zardes up the the top, and it made a marked difference. Germany had a hard time dealing with the speed of Zardes and later Yedlin...of course this may have had to do with the fact the Bundesliga season has been over for 3 weeks and guys might not have been fully match fit.
