Just on Sportscenter. MGM Resorts, Intl:

Denver 5-1
San Francisco 5-1
New England 7-1
Green Bay 7-1
Baltimore 10-1
Seattle 10-1
Houston 10-1

Broncos have a cake walk of a schedule. 7-9 Chargers, 4-12 Raiders and the 2-14 Chefs twice each. Must be nice playing in such a weak-assed division. The second place team in the AFC West would have been in 4th place in the Norse division.

I must admit I'm surprised these odds come out before anybody knows what the rosters will look like. The draft, trades, retirements, etc could drastically alter these teams.

It's going to be tough for SF to get through another 16 game season as clean as they did injury wise. They had a charmed year. I agree they will spend a while looking back at 2012 as a year everything lined up for them and they stalled out 5 yards short.
I just hope that the Packers can have one effing season without half the roster ending up on IR. One more year of devastating injuries and I'm climbing on the the strength and conditioning coaches argument.

Nah, I don't think so, ChilliJon. They really stretch before games. Huge advantage. In fact I think the Packers should stretch more. Would help them compensate for their poor strength and condition coaches.

Good point. A show I was listening to talked about this yesterday. Who was the last team to win the Super Bowl after losing it the previous season? Answer was the undefeated Dolphins in 1973. They lost to the Cowboys the year before.

There are so many variables in the current NFL it's nearly impossible to get back.

I guess, historically speaking, I see your point. But they look to be a pretty solid team top to bottom.

And after Super Bowl XLV who would of thought the Packers weren't a pretty solid team with a lot of young talent?

And last year they were 2 muffed punts from a Super Bowl they probably would have won.
Good thing they have some history to fall back on after being so close 2 years in a row
I think they'll be in the thick of it again next year

There is a crazy stat that I need to look up but it is something to do with the Super Bowl loser more often than not doesn't even make the playoffs the following year. Injuries could hit them hard, Kaepernick could have the dreaded sophomore jinx (especially if NFL defenses figure out how defend him) etc. The other thing I think about is that maybe at some point the way Harbaugh acts maybe it could wear thin with the team.

Patriots almost end Super Bowl loser curse
profootballweekly.com

Just getting to the conference championship can be considered an achievement for the Patriots, and Super Bowl runner-ups everywhere.

Losing the Super Bowl has cast quite the curse on teams over the last two decades. Since the Bills had their string of four consecutive Super Bowl losses, the NFL’s second-place finishers have been fortunate enough to make the playoffs.

This year’s Patriots are the first Super Bowl runner-ups since the 1993 Bills to advance as far as the conference title game the following season. Nine teams — including the 2008 Patriots — did not even make the playoffs the year after falling in the Super Bowl. The 2003 Raiders went 4-12, the low watermark of the group.

But even the teams that can get past the pain of losing in the championship and advance to the playoffs the next year don’t get very far. Five lost in the wild-card round, most recently the 2011 Steelers, and four teams lost in the divisional round. continue
Making the playoffs after losing the super bowl isn't a poor performance.

Winning the super bowl then completely missing the playoffs like the Giants this year, should fit that list.
