In nine games for the Denver Broncos, Vernon Davis ended up with 20 catches (2.2 per game) and 0 touchdowns. Maybe this Thompson guy isn't as stupid as we thought.

He also didn't have Rodgers throwing to him.
We've been over this. It's not comparing apples to apples because you don't know how Rodgers and MM would have utilized him vs how Denver has. In some of those games, noodle arm was playing so badly he couldn't throw the ball for shi* thus the reason he was riding the bench.
He's faster than Dick Rod. He's far more experienced than Perillo or Rodgers. Really who knows.
Speaking of veteran TE's:
He's a UFA in 2016. No I am not holding my breath and yes I acknowledge he's on the downside of his career. But that's a vet TE AR could have and Im guessing he wouldn't cost a lot.
But here at 1265, we don't do FA.

It's not as if Rodgers was particularly accurate.
Oh boy, let's start the "we should've traded for Joe Thomas" thread.
Hmmm... Vernon Davis went to the Broncos about the same time as the Packers bye week, which is when the offense went south.
Would have preferred Owen Daniels when they had the chance.

Actually, for the past two games he didn't have anyone throwing to him. After a couple of huge drops, he had zero targets in each of the past two games. I guess Ted would rather have a late round draft pick than another guy who can't catch.
You have to go beyond Davis's stats. He had some of the worst drops you'll ever see at key points in the game. It is very possible that the Broncos would have two more wins if Davis had caught those balls.
Bronco fans generally view him as a complete waste.
He had a decent game against Detroit, due to the Hail Mary, but he's been utterly pedestrian otherwise.
That said, the guy Davis should actually have partially replaced was Adams, who has been awful since week 6, if they wanted a size receiving threat.

His issue is staying on the field. But In certain personnel packages he could definitely be Keith Jackson. Now they just gotta find Mark Chmura...
Vernon Davis sucks.
