Once San FranSissy quit fudgin' around on their last drive, they were very crisp. No problem moving the ball at all.

Ponder...What kinda luck do you have when you have your head ducked down amidst the defensive pressure, waiting to get hit, but turn it into a scramble for a 1st down?

I'm actually a bit nervous about Gerg playing in Minnesota.  Here in Green bay he seemed to make the tough catches look easy while flat-out dropping the easy ones.  With Ponder, he's going to get a LOT more tough catches.

Not only that, but all the stuff at the Packers Pro Shop seems kind of cheap and crappy this year.  Not liking the Nike apparel so far and then there's this:

Looks nothing like him!  He got someone else's head.

The media here will have the Vikings in the Super Bowl tomorrow since Ponder was 17/23 and AP hasn't carried the ball yet. The consensus will be, "We'll be GREAT once AP gets on the field. Ain't no stoppin' us then." Did I say how much I hate the Vikings? And the media that covers them?

Ponder had 1 good scoring drive the entire game and now all of a sudden he's turned the corner?   I'm not even sure the 49ers had all their starters in there for that drive after the half.

Their other TD drive totaled 28 yards.   Lots of three and outs mixed in with a couple of turnovers.

I remember a Reggie statue they gave out to everybody one year.  Thing DIDN'T look like him so much I gave it to the kids to play with - terrible.

Goldie, it's awful early to anoint anyone.  I like our chances as well as anybody's... but I'm like that at the beginning of every season - even growing up through the 70/80s.  I'll wait to see where the chips fall.  The way you can't tackle anymore without incurring badell's wrath we'll be lucky if everyone in the league isn't suspended by the time playoffs roll around...

check that doll for PEDs...

Ponder looked horrible last night. Happy feet. Indecisive. Noddle armed. Scoring drives came against SF 2nd's. I imagine the Minny rubes are a mess this morning.

The drop in talent in SF's defense from 1's to 2's is striking. If they suffer some injuries, specifically in the secondary they're in trouble.

SF's starting OL is scary good. Yes, they had a string of high picks 2005-2010 but they nailed them and they've managed to stay healthy. They get the added bonus of having a really good QB that won't break the salary cap bank for another couple years. That group's going to be impossible to keep together long term though. Staley was toying with Jared Allen.

I thought Bishop looked good last night and moved really well. He had a play in the 4th from MLB where he beat the ball carrier to the corner on 2nd and goal and forced him back inside. He's going to make the team. Only question is whether or not the hammy/groin holds up all year. Big question.

That bobblehead looks like GW Bush.

On the other hand Kaepernick looked great his second drive. Of course, he was upright the whole time.

I know people are worried about him taking off and running being job #1 for the Packers D...but they need to find a way to hit him, and disrupt his throws, make him feel like he HAS to pull it down and run. He has not been roughed up at all in his brief career...largely due to the fact the 49ers have probably the best OL in the league from all the years of drafting so high in round 1.

He looked exactly like he always has. Horrible pick by them on a number of fronts. If it's not a playoff meltdown this org blows it with it's QB choices. Over-the-hill vets (Jimmy Mac, Moon, BJohnson) and now this guy. They are going to blow a nice chance to maybe make some noise this season with an all-world RB and an aging defense.

EDIT: 4 not included in the vets because he had his best season statistically with them. He falls under the meltdowns...

I like the flat paint and the stripped down uniforms---now if they can make the astroturf in the roller dome look more like grass and less like St. Patty's day confetti I might not have as many seizures when I watch them this year

Minnesota's Jerome Felton has been suspended the first three games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Peterson's not getting 2000 yards this season, much less the 2500 he was shooting for.

Yes, Jennings is a good receiver. Real good. He makes me nervous and I am not looking forward to his inevitable celebration in the GB end zone.

You've hit the nail on the head.
