When Clay returns who gets the starting job on the other side?

Walden has been unimpressive the last few weeks in my opinion. He was credited with 2 sacks against the Lions, but they didn't come because he beat his man, they were more of the clean up variety. Moses doesn't have the stats but he has been getting pressure. Last night, the Giants chose to double him and leave Zombo/Walden singled up on several plays.. That should tell you all you need to know.

Moses deflected the pass saving House a PI in the end zone. They were holding him REGULARLY, one time even grabbing his facemask. No call. I think he deserves a shot, maybe bring Walden in occasionally for one-third the snaps just to keep his legs fresh.

Bob McGinn's article from just a few weeks ago suggests the coaches have been quite pleased with Walden's play.

"Thank goodness we were able to sign him and get him back," defensive coordinator Dom Capers said this week. "I really think he's a good football player." Walden was the defensive game-ball winner against St. Louis on Oct. 21 and Arizona on Sunday. He had five pressures Oct. 7 in Indianapolis, and coach Mike McCarthy said he played "lights out" Oct. 14 in Houston. That's four outstanding performances for Walden in the last five games.

Walden can't beat his man one on one. It showed last week when he generated no pressure outside of those two sacks where he didn't even beat his man. Yesterday, they just doubled Moses and Walden generated no pressure despite being one on one.

Moses has been surprising. I mentioned in an earlier thread that he just makes plays. He's around the ball all the time and has a knack for making something happen. He got a hand on the ball in another game to disrupt the throw before the ball left the QB's hand. I liked that last night he couldn't get to Eli so he leaped high to get the deflection -- and he went really high -- on an athletic play. Moses is fast, relentless and seems to be a quick learner. I'd like to see him out there all the time.

Walden is just a guy who can spell the other LBs and maybe a spot starter.
Walden is the better all around player, but Moses is the better pass rusher. I would play Walden on early downs and run situations and Moses on obvious passing downs. Heck I'd try to get all 3 on the field at once!
