Goldie realizes these are highlights. That's progress.
Max was also extremely hung over and reportedly got back to the hotel at 7am before the game.

I'll tell it the way I heard it from my father.
At some point shortly after SB1 Max gave my dad the football in question.
It wasn't autographed or marked in any special way.
A few years later dad was contacted by the HOF wanting that ball for obvious reasons and because Max had told them who he gave it to. They offered to put our family name on the description display plaque. ๐
Dad goes looking for the football and finds out that Gary and Scott had taken it across the street to toss around at Mather Heights Park and didn't bring it home.
Dad's words: "Ack, they both blamed each other". ๐คฃ
If that ball still exists there's some person in GB that has no clue as to what they have!
I've tried various searches trying to get info about the ball history, but came up empty.
How was dad contacted? Phone? Mail?
It would be great if someone with HOF connections could check it out from the inside...

So the question remains. Did the HOF ever try to find that ball and what was the result of they're search?

And you just know thatโs happened before. Cards that went on to be worth a small fortuneโฆassuming survival in decent to great condition. Oof.
