I also heard the radio feed up through the last FG. I guess it's more important that MM knows the situation (and there is your dagger). I think Wayne calls a great game usually. I did have to think through that while I was driving, however.

Wayne may be the best play-by-play radio guy in the biz. I have listened to a number of guys and so far, nobody is as good as Wayne, and Larry too.

I'm not a big Wayne guy, he's too plastic bombastic for my tastes at times. Of the currents I prefer Kevin Harlan for that style.

Larry's good, but I miss Jim & Max.

I like Larivee but I really liked listening to Max, he was such a natural public speaker and BSer it was easy to see why he was a lady killer!

The Larrivee's live in our neighborhood. They never answer their door when the kids go trick-or-treating. That's irresponsible!

He does have a sweet Green and Gold color scheme on his house though.

I think Larivee is as good as it gets. Wisconsin sports fans are spoiled when it comes to announcing teams. Most of us grew up and still have the luxury of listening to guys like Jim and Max, Ueck, Larry McC, Merle Harmon, Eddie Doucette, Matt Lepey and Larivee.

I listen to Wayne and Larry most every week while I watch TV (thank you satellite radio), but yesterday I was driving home from the UP so I listened to the whole game without the television. You're right he totally botched the end of game scenario, he seemed surprised that the packers would be kicking the field goal, even though they needed it to make it a 2 score game.

Also I noticed that it often took him a while to give the new down and distance, or the number of yards a play traveled so I was left hanging on whether or not a first down was made.

All that being said, I really like listening to those guys..even though Larry is a homer he gives some great insight into OL play.

Growing up in the Chicago 'burbs, I liked listening to the scratchey voices of Jim and Max on a barely audible AM transistor radio. But I also like Wayne Larrivee and Larry Mac. Wayne can be a little to excitable at times. But I want an objective announcer, not a cheerleader. And I think he's pretty fair.

Growing up with Jim and Max, it would be hard to ever duplicate that chemistry and entertainment. So glad for those guys after calling all those awful years during the '80s and into the early '90s that they got to finish their careers with some excellent Packer teams to cover.

Wayne and Larry have been around long enough now that I am used to their style. They'll never be Jim and Max to me, but they are a good tandem, and they've been lucky to have covered many more good to great teams than Jim and Max got to cover.

Yeah Chilli (love it on Dr. Dawgs), Wayne could be more discreet if he wants to avoid attention.
