+ Joe Thomas - Guy looks like an almost completely different player this year.

+ JC Tretter - Love his mobility and ability to get to second-level defenders as well as taking on NTs.

+ David Bakhtari - Making a case to be a priority re-signing.

+ Rollins - Struggled early, but camp back strong when they needed him.

- Titans Titaned,

Thought to ponder:   Del Rio went for 2 and won.

Gutsy win by the defense at the end!

Good effort by the OL

Nelson is back

-

4th down defense was really bad. Got the one that mattered, though.

Maybe get a guy with a dark visor on to return punts in the bright sun

A few poor punts from Schum.

+

•  They won (escaped with a win)

•  Number 12 looked good there after a shaky beginning

-

•  More bizarre play calling

•  Timeouts burned early

•  How many 4th down conversions allowed? Sheesh

+ Win, Rodgers looked good, some nice plays in general from the offense.

- Pissing away time outs.  Delay of game coming out of halftime?  Offense was just OK.  Are they not quite in sync yet or is Jacksonville that good on defense?

+ run defense was stout.  Clay makes Dom look smart no mater where he plays.

- We are still soft in the middle.  I saw more "running towards the play" out of our linebackers than we've seen in years, but a good QB again picks up apart in the middle of the field.

WTF- Mike wears long sleeves.

+ Front 7 run D.

+ Randall and Dix top performers in secondary.

+ Perry and Thomas with big impact plays.

+ Pass Pro was better than expected.  Taylor held up.

+ Jordy is back!

+ Rodgers looked like his old self.

+ Clay is an animal.  Love watching him play.

negs

- Delay of game to start a quarter and after a TO.  Bad news.

- Rollins struggled in 1rst half but he bounced back.

- MM **** the bed on that series with 5 mins left.

- Punt return unit hurt us in the 1st half.  Maybe sun kept Hyde from field those kicks?

Positives

Run defense held up well

Offensive line kept Rodgers clean (one sack for 0 yards lost)

Adams makes a play

Negatives

Passing game still out of synch, time will tell how good the Jags are on defense, but this was the 10th game in a row where Rodgers failed to get to 300 yards (199 today). It's also (including playoffs) the 16th out of the last 19 games where that's failed to happen. Rodgers was 9 out of 18 in that stat (300 yard + games) in 2014, 4 of 9 in 2013. It shows there are still not getting the explosive plays that make this offense really go. Still they put up 27 points.

Also, let's not pat Adams on the back too much.  3 receptions on 7 targets isn't great production.   It's just not efficient when we target him, that was a major problem with the O last season.

The catch Adams made at the goal line was awesome. He deserves to get credit for that play.

The long pass that hit him in the hands & he didn't come down with. He needs to make that play when the defender (Prince A.) never touched the ball.

+++ Glad we won. It's tough to win in the NFL.

+++ Rushing offense looks ok

+++ Welcome back Jordy Nelson!

+++ Clay gonna play. Looks great

----- 3rd & 4th down defense - Thanks Dom

----- Cook, we need more production

----- Q. Rollins, rough day but way to hang in there

----- Rodgers slightly off today but he's still better than 95% of any other QB in the league. Wait until he's "ON"

How many were drops though? You're implying all his missed targets were drops. I can think of 2 passes he should have caught, which is still not positive, but it's not like he dropped 4 passes. How many throws did Rodgers miss in this game though, I can think of half a dozen.

Agreed.  Does anyone get the All-22?  I think Adams had his man beat and if the pass was a little deeper, Adams would have caught it on the run.

We won but were lucky to do so.
Perhaps it was just a strange game, being the season opener, on the road, and in extreme heat conditions.
Going into the game I expected us to be soft vs the rush, but stronger than Ajax vs the pass. I also expected ARod to have closer to 300 yards passing, and looked for our D to hold Bortles to 200 or under. Of course, the opposite happened.

In any case,  I think the team prepared well for this; I didn't see any issues with cramping or fatigue. Game plan was solid, if not smart. Execution and play calling, on the other hand, was not as sharp.

I think JAX is talented and very well coached. They impressed today.

That's a tough game.  It just was.  Heat, Lil' Ern, light on the beef inside and I personally think the Jags can easily win the AFC South.  They have a solid QB and defense that's nothing to sneeze at.

I would like to know the reasoning behind not running Lacy between the Tackles out of the I or Pistol? Seemed like a lot of his runs were out of Shotgun on those slow developing sweeps and off tackle runs. He's a pounder, pound that interior. His biggest issue was breaking tackles moving laterally. He's a lot of mass, he gets that momentum going downhill your guaranteed at least a couple yards.

I'm implying two things.  He struggles to get open and he struggles with drops.  Those two lead to poor efficiency.

1 of each

+ the run D. They won this game. Nick perry, stood out often

- the pass offense. I thought Rodgers was way off. It's not my intent to debate this, but from my POV, he wasn't sharp. His pocket awareness saved his ass much more than his arm.

Drops are not good, that has to get cleaned up. I don't think he struggled getting open though, I think the reason he got 7 targets is because he was open. Rodgers isn't a big risk taker with the ball, he throws to who is open.

It just occurred to me that Rodgers poorly executed shovel pass was to Adams. I'm sure that counts as a target. He skipped a couple passes to Jordy, those count as targets. I'm just saying, Adams had mistakes, but he wasn't horrible. Everyone had mistakes though, it's week 1. When it's week 5 and he still has drops then it will be clear he still has head issues.

That shovel pass... I'm hoping he pulled up last second because my guess is, had it not been skipped, it would have been picked.

Glad to know adams has until week 5 to prove his hands don't suck.
