He was a douchebag cheater at U$C and then he took his sideshow to Seattle

He needs a swift kick in the ass or better yet have Lacy run a sweep play along the sidelines and fall out of bounds into him

From the "Cut at the final 53 at the halfway point" thread.

Whether it is related to evaluation, in some ways which we do not understand, whether it is a move toward safety with certain players or if it's just trying to hide intent I do not know.

But obviously Perry is working on technique in camp and it's been pretty good as others here have stated. For whatever reason it seems Perry is relegated to bull rush so far this pre-season in game action.

Game 1 of regular season we release the hounds, we sure as hell won't do it against Seattle.

Get ready for a bit of a beat down, and some more hand wringing, but thats ok.

Let that little effin twerp in Seattle shoot his wad too early. We won't even remember this game come October.

It means nada. Don't show them a damn thing.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think there's a good chance this is actually going to be a little more serious than your average preseason game.  After watching the post game locker room last year there's no doubt  some of the guys want to go get some hits.

Didn't McMillian get a shot in on one of the SEA guys last year?  These two teams dislike each other in a very real way.

SEA is an excellent warm up for the 49ers.  The defense getting a few quarters of work against Russell is the perfect training for Kapernick's mobility.

Russell really impressed me with his elusiveness last year.   He made some time in tricky ways I've never seen on an NFL field.  He showed the ability to string combos of movements together to get out of jams.

Can't even believe I'm saying this but it's the biggest preseason game in years .  Rodgers best keep his head on a swivel.  There's no doubt in my mind that Pete wouldn't be upset if one of his guys laid him out.

I think MM will take this one seriously.  And I bet the players that were on the team last year will take this one seriously.  They will teach the new guys - if they don't know.

MM might just game plan the crap out of this game.  And the players should follow the example of the guy that hit Keller - hit low - about knee height.  A good time to make our post season a little easier.

I know who the better team is but the better team doesn't always win.

Last year is last year. It's done & over with & we can't change anything. Wasted energy thinking about it.

I'm not certain the Seahawks are getting out of their division alive.

I don't care who we play in the playoffs, as long as we win.

Keys for this meaningless pre-season game...

  1. Stay healthy
  2. 1st string offense put the ball in the endzone at least once
  3. Defense, continue where you left off in St. Louis
  4. RTFB

If Pete purposely tries to injure Rodgers or anyone else, don't be surprised to see him not be able to walk out of Lambeau.

I don't expect a close contest this week... I see SEA/Carroll playing to win.

McCarthy said yesterday that this game (pre-season week 3) is not the dress-rehearsal like in years past. With the limited contact (CBA driven) in practices the pre-season games have become much more important in evaluating the guys in the 45-90 spots. There is a cut down to 75 next week and I expect McCarthy will want to see how the players do on the field, more so than a W at the end of the night.

tweets from yesterdays McCarthy post-practice presser:

MM: 3rd game usually came on a seven-day week as your dress rehearsal. This new CBA sked don't know if that's realistic. We need more info

McCarthy on third game: We need more information about the players on our roster.

MM: It's important we get enough reps on guys and continue to try to figure this thing out

MM: Third game is a dress rehearsal. But with new CBA we still need more information on the players on this team. Not as much a rehearsal...

McCarthy says perhaps this third preseason game won't be dress rehearsal it once was. "That's not as true as it was 3, 4 years ago."

I would expect nothing less than Carroll leaving his starters in trying to hang 50 on GB as a way to show last years gift wasn't really a gift. It's his nature.

I'm looking forward to 74,000 GB fans giving the d-bag a warm welcome to Lambeau.

I can't believe anybody thinks Carroll and the Hags think that was the correct call and they won that game fair and square. They just will never come out and admit it and neither would any other NFL team.

Also, I don't see what the Hags think they have to prove in a preseason game at Green Bay. If they care about anybody, it's the Niners. I expect both teams to treat this game the same way they would if it was the Jags.

I want to late a beating on Seattle as much as the next Packer fan, but since it is preseason I'd rather they take the high road. By that I mean don't get baited into revealing anything they don't have to at this point. I'd rather they use this opportunity to get comfortable defending the Pistol/Read Option stuff that Seattle occasionally uses. If using this game as a learning opportunity and losing helps us to beat San Francisco then I'd rather lose the meaningless preseason game. That said, the ideal scenario is Green Bay laying a beating on Seattle without revealing a thing and then laying a beating on San Fran. Make the NFC West our b*tch.

Capacity is now 80,750 with the latest development of the south EZ.

Even better!

Carroll leaving his starters in the entire 1st half last week in a week 2 pre-season game against Denver long after Manning and Co. were on the bench tells you everything you need to know about Pete. I expect the same out of him Friday night.

This is no revenge game. Hopefully that comes later. Like Boris mentioned, get the starters some work. Get in a little practice against the read option. Hopefully Crosby / Tevvecchio get a couple opportunities each. Give Hyde a long look returning punts. Get out of this game healthy.
