Time for the D to take it back again.  Even Steven.

Sleeve Goldie...check your sleeve....

Seemed like your typical Badgers game with the offense taking some time to get things going.   23 looked like he’s in mid season form.  I hated the fumble but he’s so damn quick and elusive and strong that I expect another banner season from him.  Was wondering about the passing game without Cepheus and Danny Davis and Neuville but I thought Pryor and AJT made some nice plays and Ferguson had several catches.   Not totally pleased with some of Hornibrook’s throws but he avoided the dumb mistakes so that’s encouraging.

The defense to me is what stood out.  It is me or does this group seem faster and more athletic?   Nelson was all over the place and he played fantastic for basically a rookie.   Hicks and Williams didn’t look overwhelmed at corner.  The LBs look really good as usual.   The untested DL stepped up as well.

Western Kentucky isn’t exactly a juggernaut, but they did have an experienced QB and a couple of decent receivers so good to see UW take control and never allow the game to turn.

I also thought the D looks to be much faster and definitely more athletic as well as you can see they are well coached. I didn't see all of the game but when I did Hornibrook seemed to be a bit erratic.

I still believe this team is ranked a bit too high but you can see if they get it all together that they will be tough for anyone to beat.  F'm Bucky!!!

They are currently missing a lot of players. Honestly D Davis is better than Cepheus so they get him back in a couple of weeks and it’s on.  I really like Pryor and AJ Taylor but Davis is the entire package - size and speed.

Leonhard may be the best D coordinator in college football.   I’m a big Dave Aranda guy but JL has him beat.  They are basically turning over their entire secondary and their “best” corner transferred and those guys looked good.  Really good.  Nelson was unreal as the FS roamer.  Speed, instincts, swagger,  loved it.  Williams and Hicks locked down their guys.   Man coverage.   Hicks looking like yet another CB stud from South FL.  And the DL played pretty damn well despite some new faces.

There’s no reason this team can’t be in the playoffs.   The only thing holding them back are injuries or inconsistent (bad) Hornibrook which is always a possibility.  But I have faith in Chryst and this should be a fun year.

My biggest concern from this game is that the D-Line wasn't getting consistent pressure on the QB.  To often he had time to stand in the pocket and deliver rhythm passes to his receivers.  That will bite them in Big 10 competition.
