Saw this thread on BFan and thought it would be fun to start it here. Guess what? I will go first:

1. Reinstate Pete Rose and allow rule breakers into the hall (if voted in) but if they break any major rules (proven or suspended) they get an asterisk on their 'plaque' and their trangression(s) will be noted. My thought on that is there have been rules broke since the game started and there always will be cheaters.

2. Ditch the home field advantage for the All-Star game. It's an exhibition game. It should count like one as well.

3. Go DH in both leagues. Although I do like the strategy involved with the pitcher hitting, I do not like the roster imbalance for interleague play. Plus 99% of pitchers suck at hitting. Also, it can keep more good hitters who are worthless in the field in lineups.

4. Time limit between pitches. This goes for both the hitter and the pitcher. 10 seconds? I don't know. Just need to speed up the game somehow.

5. Get rid of the new blocking the home plate rule. Go back to the way it was. The new rule is too confusing and let catchers and teams decide if they want their backstop to get in harms way.

1.  DH in both leagues.  Pitchers batting is stupid. The double switch is not strategic, even Ned Yost could execute it. Stop this. Now.

2.  Balanced schedules. 18 games vs the 4 others in your division (72). 6 games vs the 10 others in your league (60). 6 games vs one division intraleague (30). You should play same teams as those I'm your division

3.  Best record gets HFA for World Series. Duh.

4.  Salary cap with floor and ceiling. It's not a coincidence that the 2 most popular leagues have one.

5.  Use aluminum/composite/whatever bats for home run derby. I want to see Stanton hit  one 700 feet. Brimg back McGwire.

Extra Credit .  Rule that Pete Rose never be allowed back in game. Or Hall of Fame. Or anything.  Eff him.  Forever.  PED guys are allowed in though as they didnt bet on games.  But eff Pete Rose.

1) Electronics is used for Ball n Strikes( ump wears gear like army helicopter pilots night vision), this go into effect 1 minute after I'm hired. The screen that the ump sees is broadcasted.
2) Salary cap with Franchise tag, 2 mins after I'm hired.
3) DH OUT in both leagues. Baseball was meant for all 9 guys to bat, I want worthless fielding big guys out on defense.
4) Trading Deadline is midnight on the  last Sunday of season.
5) Season is divided into 2 halves, Wild Cards are only decided in 2nd half.

1) Call the strike zone.  Games will go faster.

2) I like a cap and floor

3) When Anthony Rizzo gets hit in the hands, call it a strike since his hands are in the strike zone.

4) September call ups limited to two guys.  Bringing up a pile of guys for ****s and giggles makes no sense.

5) Name Tony Plush as assistant Commish.

Good one on this. I will disagree on your s & g however. Teams with stocked farm systems and good arms can have a big advantage over other teams they are fighting with so why would they not take advantage of that? 2-4 makes sense. Just make it the same for everybody.

Quite a few good ideas here. Mine is that I would like to see the regular season schedule either return to 154 games or cut further than that. When I started watching in the fifties, the schedule was 154, the only playoffs that occurred were if two teams in a league tied at season's end, AND teams regularly played doubleheaders on Sundays. With everything being extended, the world series now crowds November and there are far fewer days off for players, which I can't help feel negatively affects player sharpness and performance.

Baseball isn't meant to play in November. Period. If 154 games accomplishes that, or day/night double-headers like in the old days, then so be it. Teams are not making billions off beverage/ticket sales- it's TV money in the 21st century.

Lower the cost for MLB Sunday ticket or whatever it's called, and allow people to select the out of market team they want to watch. I don't care about 3000 other games- just the Brewers.
