Let's face it friends, Rodgers is getting expensive, and he certainly isn't getting any younger. Now is the time to look for his replacement in this year's draft.

I like Mike Glennon. The man is just a winner.

I say trade for Flynn. He already knows the system, and everybody knows Rodgers is nothing but a system quarterback anyway. Just go read any other team's message boards; they'll tell you.

I'll bet that if we threw in a 2nd-rounder along with Rodgers, that'd probably be enough to get the deal done.
Found on internet.

I have to say, when you talk to Jordan Rodgers, that is the guy that lights up an interview room. Football junkie, intelligent & it shows. Team that gets Rodgers is getting a steal. You have him in a QB meeting room, he'll out-work you and out-fox you if you aren't established
If X4 is looking for a QB that is really good at breaking windshields with beer bottles then Bray is the guy. Bray is a poor man's Jay Cutler...and not Denver Jay Cutler, whiny Chicago Jay Cutler.
man that interview with Gruden and Bray was painful.
Bray couldnt have come off looking any dumber.
Gruden looked like Norman Einstein compared to that guy.

couldnt answer any of the questions. though it was just some highlights
of the QB camp session

Ive actually been impressed with Tyler Wilson, both after
his QB interview with Gruden and his highlight reel.
Nassib is intriguing as well.

If I was a GM I would stay away from Glennon in the early rounds.
Kid has a frame like Peyton.
Tall, lanky, whip for an arm, immobile, can make all the throws.
But just does not have that intangible "it" factor that I saw here
in Rivers and Russell Wilson. Needs to be a better leader and make
better decisions with the ball. lot of his stats came in garbage time when
our porous Defense gave us an early deficit. Though he had no one to throw to
and a terrible OL. If he matures a little and becomes a field general,
he could be a steal, but Id bet against it.
Bwah !

Check this out- the scouts comments on Rodgers BEFORE the draft in 05

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/203116571.html

NFC scout: "I think he has a good chance of being a bust. Just like every other Tedford-coached quarterback

AFC scout: "I don't like him. He's a clone of Harrington and Boller"

AFC scout: "He's a system quarterback. 3-, 5-, 7-step guy. Can't create on his own. Panics under pressure"

And Cliff Christl

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/203118041.html

"But let's face it, there were reasons that Rodgers slipped to the 24th pick in the draft and they had little to do with the needs of the 22 teams in front of the Packers that didn't draft a quarterback. No prospect projected as a franchise quarterback is going to last for four picks, much less 24."

.
I'm no professional scout, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I disagree with those guys. I think this Rodgers kid might actually have a future in this league, if we can get him coached up a bit.

I wonder if this scout is still scouting with an eye for talent like that? talk about wrong, wrong and wrong.
It's the good ol boy network.

If I'm running an organization, I'd probably have better luck enlisting some x4 members for scouting than some of these so called "scouts" that are getting paid 6 figures for opinions like Satori posted.

Cliff Christl's comment is priceless. Let's face it. Tampa, Cleveland, San Francisco, Arizona all screwed up in the 1st round of 2005. The Vikings screwed up...TWICE in that first round. Let's face it....TT is the steely-eyed assassin
Lets face it, coaching and patience matter. Thompson wasn't sold on drafting him either and wanted to hedge his bets post-Favre after seeing Rodgers in training camp for a couple of years. I think the Harrington/Boller comment is fair. Neither of those guys was given time to develop with/or a good QB coach. Put Harrington with a few years in Green Bay and let Rodgers be thrown to the wolves in Detroit and they likely have far different careers.

That said, in pre-draft, how much of what a scout tells a reporter is true and how much is misdirection, especially at the QB position. Is it "He's a system QB"... (but with time to develop I think he could be pretty good, he just won't be ready right away)?
The previous two posts both hold validity but ultimately you don't have a QB play at Rodgers current level without some individual intangibles in there the allow him to put the whole package of coaching, scheme and natural ability altogether.

Carr and Harrington may have had better careers had they been drafted into the right system but I really don't believe they could have put together the current career Rodgers has and that's on top of all the Bert horse****.
