Since there ain't much to do but wait around for Sunday, might as well enjoy bashing those teams I can't stand.

“It’s obvious that this football team is supremely talented,” Waters said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Anybody who knows football knows that this football team for years has been a super talented football team. I think this football team is as talented as there is in the NFL. I believe in that.”

Waters, who grew up in the suburbs of Dallas and played his college football at North Texas, said he already feels at home.

“I grew up here. This is the hometown team,” Waters said. “This is a super talented football team. I believe this team has been close to breaking through and being a playoff team. Honestly, I think they have been close to being a championship football team. The talent, the coaching staff, the organization and growing up here were probably the biggest things that attracted me the most.”

I believe I believe I believe - yeah right, show me.  And what is the one thing that keeps them from breaking through?  The jerruh at the top.  Looking forward to another season of mediocrity out of D again this year myself.

When the darkness emanates from your owner, you'll have this.

Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher has an explanation for last year, and it makes as much sense as anything else around there.

“I was like, ‘What did somebody do to God?’ I felt like God had just cursed us and we just had to deal with it. That’s the way I felt. Every time we’d get a little bit of daylight, here comes the darkness. Please don’t bring up last year. We just roll in and start off with the Giants and continue to play great. I hope God just keeps everybody safe on this team. We can go and win some ballgames and do what we need to do.”

Talk about disrespecting the legacy of Junior.

These two things are NOT alike.

from PFT:
Of course, in the time off, Te’o has also been able to work with the locals on the pronunciation of his name.

Folks in San Diego want to make it tay-OW, for a very conditioned reason.

“Over here, they try to rhyme it with [Junior] Seau. TAY-ow. SAY-ow,” he said. “I guess it’s a hard name to say.”

from PFT:
According to Tom Krasovic of U-T San Diego, Te’o was running with resistance on the sidelines yesterday, the most vigorous work he’s done in front of reporters since injuring his right foot in the preseason opener, after just nine snaps of game action.

wow, hamstrings galore out in Seattle.  that's too bad...

In a surprising development, Seattle Seahawks starting cornerback Brandon Browner was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice because of a strained hamstring. Browner played in all four preseason games without a problem.

Defensive tackles Brandon Mebane and Tony McDaniel (both with groin injuries) were limited participants. They are listed as the two starters on the depth chart. Defensive end Cliff Avril (hamstring) also was limited in practice. Avril said before practice that he hopes to play on Sunday.

Waters thought so much of Dallas' chances this year he waited until this week to sign. Even though Dallas started chasing him before camp opened. He's a lazy slob that hasn't played in 18 months and probably needed wing money.

The good news for those that hate Dallas? Jerry Jones says he's got the brain of a 40 year old. So he'll be calling the shot's for quite a while!

"Come game time when the bullets start flying we'll see how well I have evolved and matured with my game plan,'' Cam Newton said when asked to compare his game today to what it was this time a year ago.

"my game plan" ??

2nd round pick in his 3rd year and this?  strikes me as a guy that ain't gonna get it.

Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano has been trying to light a fire under defensive end Da’Quan Bowers all offseason.

But if challenging him for months hasn’t worked, it’s hard to imagine how his latest motivational ploy will work.

According to Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune, the Bucs listed Daniel Te’o-Nesheim as the starter at defensive end on the team’s unoffical official depth chart.

Of course that will push me,’’ Bowers said. “My ultimate goal is not to be the second-team defensive end, it’s to be a starter. If that’s his way of pushing me, I acknowledge that and I’m trying to do something about it.’’

“Coach has invested a lot in me. He has believed in me. He’s given me shots and I appreciate that. I owe it to this organization to be the guy who can play on any down and play anywhere and be dominant. Me and Coach have had a lot of talks and he’s been leading me where I need to go.’’
