The Bucks need a defensive presence in the middle.

Bobby Portis can provide that and can score inside as well as from the perimeter.

He'd be my choice, but unfortunately, I think he'll likely be gone unless the Bucks trade up to get him.

Kenrucky players in general have been boom or bust type guys.   Talent is there but worry about work ethic and effort.  Still, at 17 you take a shot at the talent.  Hammond has done pretty well lately.

Booker is a guy that can flat out shoot and the Bucks need a guy like that

I think small forward and two guard are generally the lower coveted positions and I think a really good shooting 2 guard is what the Bucks need.  Of course, this assumes their PG (can't think of his name, the guy they traded Knight for) will be the real deal at PG.

For shooters I wouldn't mind SF Pat Connaughton or PG Jerian Grant.

For post help I like Portis a lot, but would be super happy if we landed WCS or Kaminsky in a trade up. Bucks need a real C for a change. We haven't had one in MKE since the Dobber.

I always wanted Bogut to be a better, more impact full player. It never happened, and yeah, hurt a lot. He was at least a more complete player than Sanders.

Agree with you on wing players. Almost all the great championship teams had a number of good shooters. We need more than Middleton.

Corey Hawkins could be cool as a pure shooter SG late.

Heres something on Connaughton: http://www.draftexpress.com/pr...t-Connaughton-40714/

He's a scorer... That's for sure. But at some point adding a 19 year old every year isn't going to make the team better.

So they did this:

Grievous can really shoot it now... So No more Jerryd Bayless to kick around anymore I suppose... but they trade draft picks for a big time shooter and then draft one. Spurs lite...

From ESPN.com:

The Milwaukee Bucks, in the first trade struck during Thursday night's NBA draft, have agreed to terms on a deal that will bring them veteran guard Greivis Vasquez from the Toronto Raptors, according to league sources.

Sources say that the Bucks will send a 2017 first-round pick (via the Los Angeles Clippers) and the 46th pick in Thursday night's second round to Toronto to bring in Vasquez for the backcourt depth and extra floor leadership they've been seeking.

Strikes me as the sort of player Kidd loves. Over-confident but a real gamer. Will become a fan favorite quickly.

Great article here about Greivis, from this spring.

Lamarcus Aldridge? But if so, where do you put Parker in the lineup? I don't think he's interested in Milwaukee anyway.

The big splash may be Gasol- heard somewhere that he's possibly available.

ACC player of the year in 2010 and Bob Cousy Award winner. 42% from floor, 36% from 3PT, 82% FT In 5 year career. Very solid player.

Lottery protected pick, but we are a different team now, able to trade away a pick here or there. Deep pockets with the owners. This young team just got a ton of scoring power in their backcourt.

Now we just need a true C to sign in FA.

I think the idea is that they need to build the roster as they have it. You can only have so many 19 year olds on your roster.

Dekker can't shoot consistently. Vaughn is a faucet through the net. Stop and pop. Great, great, great footwork. I see why they made that pick. He could work out to be a very good player for us, at 18 years old. Kidd will be able to coach him up defensively in a few years. 6-5 199. Almost 50% shooter from the floor! 38% from the 3PT. He'll grow, and could turn out to be a steal at #17. Dekker's ceiling is lower, I think.

I do believe Vaughn was a better pick there. He's going to be amazing on kick outs, which we see a lot.

Rashad Vaughn averaged 22 pts per 40 minutes played. Only 29 player in the last 15 years of college basketball have done that. He has a huge variety of shots. He is so good from outside that he forced defenses to cover, and he has the ability to put it on the floor and take it to the rim. Great mid-range shooter off the pick and roll.

Plus, I think Dekker wanted out of Wisconsin.

Here is what Jay Bilas had to say on the Bucks pick of Rashad Vaughn:

“Rashad Vaughn, you could argue, is a steal at this position in the draft and a steal in the draft totally. He's got size. He's got natural scoring talent. He can create his own shot,” Bilas said.

He should be really fun to watch.

As for Vasquez, he made 133 3PT shots last year. To gauge what that is, Michael Redd is #2 all-time in Bucks history in 3PT shots made. He eclipsed that 133 total only twice in his 12 seasons with Milwaukee.

Ray Allen, #1 all-time, did it a bunch of times, but that is a pretty good number for Vasques. And, we were the 5th lowest in the NBA for 3PT attempts last year.

With Vaughn and Vasquez, that will change drastically.

Seems like it. They definitely got better with these two moves. Vaughn has some incredible poise and maturity for his age. Vasquez being a veteran player, knows where to put the ball on the point. Not just who to pass it to, but where they like it to help make the score. Both are great shooters.

That missing piece is hanging out there. We can't be legit without a true, good Center. But, if we get that, I think we might be. Shocking, really.

Dude, with them adding two shooters the way they did, and with Portis staring at them, my guess is they planned all along to add either Brook Lopez or Tyson Chandler in free agency. This is not our old Bucks. They now have money to spend.

Not sure how Jordan would fit, and he won't come cheap. A lot of cash for 12 ppg and 2 bks per. He does average an insane 15 boards per game, but can't make a free throw to save his life. I would be going nuts with him on the line.

Really looking forward ward to seeing Parker with this group, and yeah, would be great to re-sign Middleton.

There was some risk in taking Vaughn right there, but I think this group knows who they like, and they wanted pure shooters. They got them.
