I just read that Tramon will be on Nicks and Woodson on Cruz. I love Charles but Crus is too fast for him. I would think Shields would be a great matchup for Cruz.

We're putting AJ Hawk on Cruz.

I think the nickel/dime area is where Dom will do some different things including blitzing Peprah and Bush.
Cruz plays in the slot quite a bit, hence the discussion of Woodson covering him. Shields and Tramon almost always take the wide guys when another WR goes into the slot.
Then I hope Charles manhandles him and the rush gets to Eli before he can break free.
From rewatching the WK13 matchup, I noticed Eli lobs his deep balls up. He's got good drive on the short to intermediate passes but those long completions to Nicks and Cruz usually have a lot of air under them. You would have to think that with a little better awareness out of our S's, they should pick a couple of those.
I can see Woodson getting a couple "illegal contact" calls vs. Cruz.

As long as the Safetys don't let Cruz get a step on them, I don't see a problem having Woodson covering him. Tramon on Nicks will be a good battle IMO, Nicks got the best of Woodson a couple times in the last meeting.

I agree I think that Cruz will get a double team most of the time with safety help over the top.
It's seems like a complete waste having Shields cover Manningham if Tramon is on Nicks. I can't believe that will be the case but I could be wrong.

Why would we announce beforehand who covers which receiver? Methinks it's deliberate misinformation, aka gamesmanship.
Does anyone on this board really think any team announcing who is going to cover who is actually giving anything away?
Where exactly would someone "read" who is covering who in an NFL Game? I am sure we won't see the same Plaxico crap we saw when we played the Giants in the playoffs the last time.
