This was discussed on Sconnie radio this week. Now that FA is done and the draft is in the books..

Is there a team in the NFC head and shoulders above the rest going into the season?

Some radiated towards the Dirty Birds but with the way the lost that SB, I'm sorry, anyone underestimating the kind of hang over that could result in 2017 may be in for a surprise.

Other's are pointing to Dallas and GB. Or perhaps the Giant's 100mil defense.

What says you?

I say this for one reason.

Every year the Packers are in the Playoffs. Every year there is a team that must beat the Packers in order to advance..

other teams come and go, but, it seems like the Packers are always there, standing in the way.

now, I certainly wish there where a few more SB's, but, the Packers are the NFC version of the Patriots.

quit complaining, people, we have one of the best teams of all time. Even though they are not winning Super Bowls.

i enjoy myself each and every year supporting this team. You?

No they aren't.

There's a lot of NFC favorites with some pretty mediocre to ****ty defenses.  The reason why the AFC has won the last couple of years is a screaming defense with satisfactory offense or a well balanced team period.

We haven't seen that recently in the NFC.

Yes they do.  There's plenty of ****ty teams in the NFC too.  They are balanced on a pretty regular basis.  Doesn't hurt your HOF coach is all about defense.

I think the Pats have the same success in the NFC because they have beaten two good NFC challengers in their last two SBs (Seattle at their peak and now Atlanta). The only way they're similar is that they have consistent winning in the regular season and consistent playoff berths.

The team to beat in any conference is the last team to win it. Atlanta is the team to beat, GB is next, then Dallas, then Seattle, NYG, and Detroit. Truly though, any team with Aaron Rodgers should be considered 1a or 1b as the team to beat.

It's fun to talk about but the Pats are a well run organization.  They aren't flash in the pan bull**** like Atlanta, Carolina or even Dallas.  There are correlations between the success of teams like Pats, Steelers, Packers and Giants but the Pats have produced with a HOF QB.  I'm hoping the Packers catch up and begin to match those feats.

Lose the Wizardy.

I think the patriots in 9. Get into the playoffs Nd maybe go places.

we have both seen the Pats get destroyed by good NFC teams. Even Dallas...

however, they seem to to be caught in a perfect whirlwind right now.

but, I give the credit to coach.

but, McC could maybe do the same?

I thinks Atlanta and Dallas take a step back and Tampa, yes Tampa takes a step up.

The Pack should be the favorite.

If the rookies produce even a little bit I'd say they were a dead lock for #1.

I'm not a believer in Jameis Winston. I don't think he'll ever be able to carry the team like a true franchise QB, 33 picks in 2 years. Although I don't see Tampa as being able to take that next step, they should have a stronger team this year, but I agree we will see steps back from Atlanta and Dallas. Steve Sarkisian will be a major step down from Kyle Shannahan and it will show on the field. Dallas will have the offense to compete, barring sophomore slumps from key players (unlikely IMO), but that defense looks rough on paper.

I think New Orleans will finally get their sh*t together and start competing again. Sean Payton is a good coach, so if he can get anything from that D I think they will be back in the playoffs. We complain about The Wizard's defense, but New Orleans has been bogged down by terrible players and terrible coaching on D for a few years now, we have it good compared to them.

The Fa.cons **** that game away. Nothing to do with the Pats.

Me too.

But, unlike others, I will not be terribly disappointed if this does not happen.

how many fans can say they have almost 30 (or more) years of hope because of their QB's?

iwill take this every day over the situation in Cleveland, buffalo, jets, Tampa, and so on

at least we have a chance....

He is Camesque but they have enough to make some noise.

If their head is on straight (not assuming anything), Atlanta will score a lot of points.

GB will score a lot of points. Wouldn't surprise me if they lead the NFC or are right at the top.

Dallas may not score as many, but they will be about ball control with EZ. Long drives and keeping the opposing offense off the field.  In a shootout with GB or ATL, I think both of those teams beat the Cowboys.

Ultimately, and not surprisingly, it will come down to defense and minimizing dumb mistakes like turnovers.

GB shot themselves in the foot in the NFCC  championship multiple times early on.  Fumbles by Rip and missed FG killed them.

Rodgers said it as well. Playing at Lambeau in January will go a long way.

How to beat Dallas. Put 7'in the box, negate the run.The other 3 fairly close to the LOS, take away the short passing game.

Worry about des when the ball actually gets to him on target.

Ptescott will have big problems this year, book it.

Maybe the smartest thing you have ever said here..

He cleared it all up for me.

The Cardinals might surprise if their QB can hold up. Gotta love their RB.

Seattle, NY Giants, maybe Rams now that Fisher is gone. Dallas & Carolina should be good too.

Green Bay & Redskins....

Awesome....I just named 1/2 the conference. Cool right?
