"As a rookie, you're like, 'Man, I wish I could go home and chill, play video games.' But at the same time you have a job and responsibility that you have committed to to this team to make sure that you're doing the best thing so that you can help this team win the Super Bowl."
"I've got an offseason to really come back and really sit back and chill and not do too much and get my mind right so I can come back stronger and a whole other player,"

I hope whoever said it is also doing some working out and studying film before next year. Just sitting back and chillin' for several months doesn't sound like the dude wants to work very hard to become a top-notch player.
I recognized his pattern of speech from weekly radio interviews.
He also said:
"I won't look the same, my body won't look the same, I'll be bigger, stronger, faster. That mental next step, I'll have it. I'm excited. I know I'm going to have a good year next year. Nothing's going to slow me down."
nothing about French fries, so not Lacy.
Curious that they said that last year before they were drafted.
Micah Hyde is likely still having nightmares about the missed pick. So if anyone needs to "get my mind right", it would be him.
He's probably back in So-Cal playing his video games as we post.
So when will the correct quoter be revealed?
It's Datone Jones. Hopefully this morphs into an offseason meme - Jones is lazy and plays video games instead of working at his game or training. Remember last year's offseason meme? Lacy is fat, lazy, doesn't love football, buries himself in Big Macs and fries and is still depressed from Katrina?

the whole story paints a better picture than the selective quotes.
really sit back and chill and not do too much and get my mind right
Physical activity has been shown to improve brain function. If sitting back is required to get his mind right I suspect this is another indication of poor conditioning or stretching.
Some of us do mind conditioners or stretchers more than others hence no need for video games.
Datone always talks a good game. However, actions always speak louder than words. Hope he backs up his words on the field next year.
He certainly could have worded that last statement better. I could see him sitting back and chillin for 6 weeks or so but then become a workout demon to get ready for the 2014 OTAs and training camp. However if his attitude is what he stated, cya Datone.
"I won't look the same, my body won't look the same, I'll be bigger, stronger, faster".
If that is truly his goal, he won't be just sitting back and chilling and not doing too much. Time will tell I guess.
Based on pressures, which is defined as the combination of sacks, knockdowns and hurries, Mike Daniels was the top rusher with 31.
Trailing Daniels were Mike Neal 30 Matthews 21, Nick Perry 18Β½, Datone Jones 10Β½ A.J. Hawk 10 Brad Jones 8 , B.J. Raji 7Β½ Andy Mulumba 6, Johnny Jolly 4
The leaders in sacks were Daniels 7Β½ and Matthews 7Β½ , Perry 5, Hawk 5 Neal 5 Brad Jones 4 Datone Jones 3Β½, Williams 2.5 Lattimore 2 Jolly 1
Among the players without a sack were Pickett, Raji, C.J. Wilson, Josh Boyd, Palmer, Sam Shields, Morgan Burnett and Jarrett Bush.
Largely because of rules changes favoring quarterbacks, the Packers had just 31 knockdowns, 21 fewer than a year ago. The only players with more than three were Matthews, 7Β½; Datone Jones and Neal, four; and Daniels, 3Β½.
The leaders in hurrieswere Neal, 21; Daniels, 20, and Perry, 13.
As a unit, the D-line had 58 pressures, down from 64Β½ in 2012 but an improvement from 37 in 2011. In the Super Bowl campaign of 2010, the unit had 101Β½.
The linebackers dropped from 122Β½ pressures to 100Β½, and the secondary fell from 15 to 12Β½.
Daniels led the D-line in pressures per snap with one every 17.4. He was followed by Datone Jones, one every 25.1; Jolly, one every 71.8; Raji, one every 87.3; Boyd, one every 116; Wilson, one every 123; and Pickett, one every 178.
The stats paint a prettier portrait of tone but he was almost unnoticed during the season save for a couple blips here or there. It's tough for a DL to jump out as a rook so I'll cut him slack like most do. Hopefully he turns into a Cameron Wake/Cam Jordan type of guy.

Now why would you wanna do that ?
Datone Jones is the poster boy for everything that is wrong with the Packers, including AJ Hawk's bad haircut.
By this time next week we hope to have him fully Justin Harrelled and would truly appreciate you getting on board with that effort.
And you wanna cut him some slack ? Ha !
"Everybody funny; now you funny too"
I think it was Alex Van Pelt who recently said that rookies need to take a month off after the season to relax, clear their heads, and heal their bodies. Then come February it should be back to business.
I thought DatOne had a pretty good rookie season. He seemed to tail off toward the end though - rookie wall?
