I like Starks, but the kid is not a kick returner.

In a game for all the marbles, Im hoping Williams, Woodson
or one of the receivers are back there. wonder if Driver could do it?

I love how MM used Tramon more in the NFCCG.

If Shields can work on his ball handling skills, he could be the
returner in the future but maybe not this game.

What did Shields do to lose that job anyway? I don't recall any security issues. I do recall being frustrated he didn't run more north/south.

I can't see using Woodson back there after not doing it at all this season.

Personally, I would just put Jordy back there again.

cant remember if it was kickoff or punt

He's back there when they have the "hands team" in for a potential onside kick. Not really a "return" situation.
I'll go with the Pat Lee idea. He ain't bad at it - seems to go mostly north/south - and if he gets hurt, no matter.

With this defense of ours, we'll only be receiving a kickoff once or twice depending on deferral anyway.

Loved Rick Upchurch.

Is Billy White Shoes Johnson available?

I think we should go with Shields for kicks, Tramon for punts just like normal.
I dont think you go into this game worrying about who could get hurt.

you have to go all out to win, best players on the field in every situation.

whoever can reliably give you the best field position is who you go with

That is also true. Holmgren always changed up come playoff time and put his best back there. For example, Freeman on punts.
Best return man on the team right now, punt or KO, is Tramon Williams.

Starks certainly isn't the answer.

Just once it would be great to see Sam Shields turn the corner or break through on a return -- if you want to see fast, watch his game-clinching interception vs CHI. His break on the ball and burst upfield during his ill-advised return was Deion-esque. I said it during the Family Night scrimmage, I can't remember a Packer that fast since James Lofton.

Pat Lee would probably be the best option but he's fighting to get onto the gameday active list. Still can't figure why Underwood ranks over him on gameday roster decisions, he hasn't been that stellar on specials to my untrained eye.
I've been wondering about this as well. They've obviously seen something out of Starks in practice, but I agree with getting Jordy back there.

He's not going to break one, but he's sure handed and was pretty consistent. It does take him out for one or two offensive plays, but I think they've got enough weapons to overcome that.
I seem to recall Jordy having a stretch during the regular season where ball security became an issue on kickoffs. At this point, we know that we aren't going to break any KOs for huge gains. The key is good decisions and ball security. I would go with Williams or Shields. I'm not a fan of having Tramon on special teams because of how valuable he is to the defense, but this is a Super Bowl. He may be the best option.
I like Williams on punts but he was a little shaky against the Bears on a couple like the one he muffed and had to run back and pick up. Not sure you want to make a risky change right now. Someone sure handed is key.
