I've been searching the interwebs and unable to find more specifics, but I read on JSO that Ryan Pickett and Desmond Bishop (two of our defensive players who actually had decent games) were angry at teammates they thought were already looking ahead to the Niners game.

Any more info on this out there?

You forgot to mention those not knocking down Hail Mary passes.
Probably some of the younger teammates who weren't as focused as they should be...my guess would be guys like Sam Shields or Erik Walden or Jermichael Finley. Those guys have been making a lot of mistakes this season, especially Walden. That's just speculation though.
Yes, Raji was trash talking before the game in the media.

He plays like **** all year, averages a half a tackle a game, and trash talks in the media about how soft the NYG line was.

News Flash BJ - you are as soft as charmin. Numbers dont lie...

Guess I dont. Worst D in the league... cupcake front 7. We won in spite of them this season. The whole group needs to be re-evaluated. The draft will be a good place to start.

He definitely has the talent to perform well. He is not consistent and doesnt look like he has the heart to do so.

14 tackles on the season, 3 sacks. These are stats that you'd expect from a backup.
Pickett had almost triple the tackles Raji did. Even Jarius Wynn had 1 more.

For the amount of snaps Raji plays, he should be much more effective than he is. Down year or is he a slug like Cletidus Hunt? His stat lines are definitely worse than Hunts mail-it-in years of 03 and 04. Hunt was always known for not playing up to his potential. BJ is taking the same career path to this point. They need to light a fire under his ass, and fast.
Raji definitely regressed a step (or three) in 2011, and I couldn't believe he was talking trash before the playoff game. His contract talks will get interesting if he doesn't improve in 2012.
So the two of the guys who statistically had great 2010 seasons saw their numbers decrease while the players around them had their stats increase. Is it really not that obvious to you Diggy? You give Matthews a pass even though he struggled with a lot of the same things Raji did, yet Raji is a bum who can't play? Makes perfect sense.
Did you really just post that?

on a team that scored dead last in total D, im not terribly worried about other players stats increasing. We got beat in the playoff game because of inconsistency and frankly we got our ass kicked around the field physically by a team that isn't as physical as teams such as SF or Baltimore.

If you have a guy that is a supposed "budding superstar" or "pro bowler" he should perform better than a replacement player. I could point out several guys on this defense for being ****ty this year. Woodson had a bad year (probably age regression), CMIII had a bad season (37 solo tackles, 6 sacks), bust most glaringly bad this season has been BJ Raji (14 solo tackles, 3 sacks - 1 tackle for a loss).

Is he just not suited for the 3-4? Would he excel more in a 4-3?
